My thought on spellcaster ascendencies:
Stormweaver: Arcane Surge is MEH, storms are impossible to say without knowing how they stack and their damage. The ele afflictions stuff feels like leftovers from elementalist. Could still be solid, but boring.
Chronomancer: Time stop seems fun, can't lie. Cooldown reset is potentially hilarious. Mega temp chains for free also seems good. I could totally run this is a league starter.
Bloodmage: Forced life cost on spells could be nice if there's good tree support, potentially lots of overflow hp if you zoom. Extra phys damage seems bad unless armor calc changed, crit tree seems good, final 2 points (there's still 8 total right?) would not excite me.
Infernalist: The life reservation part of the tree seems weird, maybe if you had chaos damage immunity from a unique and could perma low life? But it's a lot of points and life lost for mediocre boosts. Demonform is potentially good MOAR damage but no numbers. Hellhound seems ok, infinite mana is pretty thematic.
Only one real stinker imo. My main worry here is GGG seems to be regressing in terms of offering numbers.
