All current D&D based cRPGs suffer from this. Casters always end up getting a few rinse repeat powerful tactics and fighters end up having +5weapons that you right click.

Boring, yeah.

The way to solve it is to play a middling class with sufficient micro like Magus.

As a wizard, priest, druid, etc. you can easily avoid those tactics by changing your spell selection. In fact changing spell selection is one of the funnest parts imho, which is why I prefer them over classes like sorcerer.

For wizards there aren't a lot of options to switch spells, as there are few spell scrols available. Unless you use mods, that is.

on the back of a T34.
In hard you will have to revise your tactics and use absolutely everything you have to emerge victorious, that is of course you dont break your keyboard first when a kobold oneshot crits your 200 ac tank.
Rip keyboard.
The game needs a scs type mod.

Bare minimum is 4 spells per spell level from level ups plus scrolls so usually at least 6-7 spells. Many of the common spells like Haste and Fireball are available from vendors so chose the spells which you won't find at a vendor usually. First and ninth spell level have 10 and 8 spell picks respectively just from leveling if you reach level 20. Of course you can shift a spell or two to level 8 if you feel you have more need of those. Then there are also scroll drops which are not that rare either.
On a side note, it is weird that you can get dedicated scroll vendors for priests but not wizards. Makes the Scroll Savant a lot less desirable sadly. That or being able to craft your own scrolls though at least there is a mod for that.

Seems popular twitch streamer CohhCarnage is going to start another Pathfinder run today. He will be starting around 1 PM EST. Last time he played it around release on Hard difficulty through all the bugs and problems. I think he quit around end of Pitax after the wall of bugs became too much.
He probably brought more free advertising to the game than anyone else since he played it every day for weeks and enjoyed the game a lot.

:desu:

also hail fucking teleport circles. Now it even makes sense building cities away from capital. They even add +1 Arcane each. Teleport Circle + Hafling booze making station = best village.

Katara began pulling her weight after level 11 since I took Wall feat and now I can put infinite crushing/cold/piercing/ice empowered elemental walls everywhere. Before that I did't really feel her complementing much to party, although infinite Grease is nice. I guess Kineticists become particularly strong at higher levels when their amount of damage dice becomes so high that spamming their abilities ends up cheesy.

Make the Codex Great Again! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. I helped put crap in Monomyth
i got the kineticist companion and have no idea what to fucking do with her... didn't even level her up since I have no idea wtf is going on with that class.. what weapon should she be focusing on? how does she 'charge' up kinetic energy?

probably gonna do varnhold's lot soon, since I've finished with Troll Trouble and the 2nd ancient curse, would it be better to finish season of the bloom before doing the dlc? (I know people have said decisions from troll trouble are discussed in the dlc, what about bloom?)

Does anyone know is it possible to turn Valerie into paladin, or was just that some urban legend? Her charisma score goes high with the bastard sword and the bonus you get from finishing her questline.

Just putting abilities on hotbar will make sense out of it. You just click gather power to reduce damage from too powerful abilities and char charges up automatically. You pick forms like cones and bursts and improve elements like getting cold damage when you progress through say water feats.

It's all Pathfinder The Last Airbender it even has blue flame, magma and metalbending.

The whole class is about spamming damage in a bit more convoluted way than Alchemist does it while having 1-2 extra support abilities. So it's even more basic than a Wizard. Set best blast on autocast, activate chargeup and Katara begins smashing enemies for massive damage. If she manages to hit ofc.
You can also press everything and burn yourself and blast enemies out of combat for massive alpha strike.
Then you get clouds/deadly earth and suddenly you can nuke your own party in two seconds for 200+ damage.

They probably spent some money on this class since there's an extra animation for everything (if there's a Wall, you can make flame, magma, water, ice, etc. Wall). Cute.

Early Kineticist is fairly underwhelming, but starting with Fire - Fan Of Flames is like a completely different experience and a lot of fun. If you don’t mind early game cheese, Water - Slick is also a delight since you can take the burn and stack 7+ on the same chokepoint.

I wish Air - Celerity did not require a target.
I wish Blade Whirlwind checked to see if an enemy was nearby.
I wish Gather Power did not turn off autocast every time I sleep.

Kineticist do not use any real weapon. With exception of Kineticist Knight who get special feat for shields they need both hands free to use Power and reduce burn. Burn from Composite blasts (x2 damage but requires 2 compatible elements) and Kineticist version of Metamagic can be reduced only with Gather Power.

Blast by itself considered a weapon and you can get feats like Weapon Focus or Improved Critical with it.

Kineticist just puts strongest not-burning Blast on auto-cast instead of auto-attacking.

I wish Chain infusion was in (would make electric Kineticists a lot more desirable).

I wish Kinetic Whip infusion was in (kinetic melee with reach and AoOs? Yes please).

I have toyed with Varnhold some, but I will ultimately wait for the last DLC. An endless dungeon generator is sure to shake out every kind of bug imaginable. The game should be in quite a good state after that DLC is complete.

I mean several people have said that the game is pretty much "bug free" at this point and all the major issues have been corrected. I'm currently well into Season of the Bloom and haven't had one single issue and many here report having finished the game recently, but you just keep being you

Kingmaker? It is really solid, not many bugs left.
Can someone confirm that? I just don't know if that's time finally. Are there some big DLCs on the horizon?
Everything was pretty solid for me across my 200hours over the past few months. Only caveat being the most recent hotfix started triggering mid-battle crashes for me in the last two chapters. That aside it's been smooth sailing.

The only thing that you'd wait for now is for the patching cycle to finish so that mod development/stability can kick up a notch

Just play the damn game
That's actually part of my reasoning. The trend in enhanced editions or major revising post release also encourages me to wait. I have a backlog that keeps me contented enough. I only really get to play through games once these days, so I try to maximize that run.
