Finally finished this after starting it at the tail end of last year. Steam says 250+ hours, in-game has it at about 210. Really good game overall, thoroughly enjoyed the couple of months I've spent chipping away it at since late last year.

My random thoughts/rambling upon finishing it:

- Wildcard DLC spoilers
- Fuck the Sweet Teeth; because I chose to save those fuckers by using Kanerah to lure out the Soul Eater, like 100~ hours later the Forefather nabs her and I can't do shit about it. Kill the Forefather and the bitch leaves anyway, lol. I might have saved the kingdom but my hero's plans for some hot tailjob action lie in ruins now. Fucks sake.
- A post-final boss celebration or something with the opportunity to talk with companions, advisors, etc would have been better than swiftly getting whisked through the ending slides and thrown back to the title screen.
- The game does on occasion look damn beautiful, not as often, but at times it impressed me in the same way as PoE2 did.
- There are quite a few typos throughout the game text; mostly an extra letter or word here and there or one missing on occasion. On the whole, given the volume of text, it's very good but another pass to proof read the english text would undoubtedly go a long way to giving this aspect a final layer of polish. Had no issues with the quality of the writing at all; kept me engaged & entertained throughout the whole thing.
- As for the bugs, I only encountered some very minor issues through my 200hr playthrough. That is until the most recent patch. I've had seven crashes in Chapters 6-7, six of which were in-battle and one in a cutscene since the most recent "hotfix" so whatever it fixed it sure fucked up something else. Prior to this I've had zero crashes.
- Generally speaking, the games starts showing its rougher edges mid-chapter 6 onwards.
- Post-Pitax victory seems very rushed; nobody really seems to care that much about what you did when you leave the palace; expected to see a greater presence of people in the main square after those events.
- Some good choice and consequences throughout the game, like that Kanerah thing coming back to bite me right at the end of the game.
- I'd have liked to see the Capital develop more in terms of visuals and function. Even after upgrading to the max level, the inside of the "castle" remains unchanged.
- I wish they'd added more music, though I did enjoy the boss theme variations, particularly Vordekai's.
- Wildcards DLC alone was definitely worth the cost of the season pass for me, gonna give it a while before playing the Varnhold dlc. Was happy to support the devs beyond the original KS once I started playing and realised what a great game this is.
I'd play it again right away but it's a really long game, maybe in a few months time... Very :bounce: about Owlcat making another game using the Pathfinder setting though.

So it seems the devs stealth nerfed AC stacking. At least natural armor stacking. I mean some fixes were needed, but perhaps they went too far. Legendary Proportions size natural AC bonus no longer stacks with any natural enhancement bonuses. And neither do the Mutagen Alchemist bonuses.

Guess this means Sword Saints and Duelists are now even more of AC than Kings then before.

Sigh. Why can't they get this right? The stacking rules are really not that complicated!

There is a way to solve that actually
In the sweeth teeth event if you baited Kanerah to save the sweet teeth (siding with Kalikke), then you have to side with Kanerah and scold Kalikke at the last Forefather encounter. During their argument I agreed with Kanerah, telling Kalikke that the world isn't songs and birds and shit, and that she needed to get it together and act like an adult to keep both sisters alive. That prompted a DC:45 persuasion check (intimidate IIRC), resolving that I kept both of them in my party since Kanerah actually liked the way I handled Kalikke. Btw this changes Kailkke's alignment from chaotic good to true neutral. It even shows on the ending slides how she's wisened up and no longer acts like a fool anymore.

I assume it works the other way aswell. If you don't bait Kanerah, then Kalikke's all doom&gloom after the first encounter. So in the second encounter you'd probably need to side with Kalikke and persuade Kanerah to dull her edge a bit. Next time I play, I'll give it a shot this way.

Because getting them right was never the point. Owlcat was obviously going for the munchkin interpretation of the rules for as big a number as they can get (not just for AC), and kept with it until even they had to concede that in order to faciliitate power creep for DLCs, they have to tone it back down because there is a practical limit to the whole thing.

when did they add mimics? Unless I just never noticed them before? I don't see it in any of the patch notes.

When they released Varnhold's Lot DLC.
Yeah there are a few new monsters, mainly mimics, slimes, centaurs and blue dragon

Also developers came to their senses when making DurlagVarnhold's Tower, finally understanding that realism has nothing to do with good encounters. The variety of monsters in minidurlag is just how I liked them in IE games. Spiders and swarms and fey - low level and high level, satyrs, slimes, mimics, demons, animated armor, golem, a nightmare, tatzelwyrms, elementals - are all inside single DLC dungeon. And that makes it the actual good dungeon compared to undead cyclops.
Well that and cool layout, deadends, jumpscares...
party losing members :shredder:
cool dungeon dammit.

there are also manuals of bodily health and shit & more arcane scrolls in a DLC than in the whole main campaign I think
They obviously perfected their tools and, since it was all content without sex with kingdom management a-la Icewind Dale straightforward adventuring, the locations and encounters all work.
This is the quality I want.

I guess I'll have to go through undead cyclops AGAIN@#$%$ with my forgotten 4th character (CG enchantress) to get achivo of visiting DLC place in main campaign and see what Varn has to say; and need to know if love bloomed cause in the end of DLC
your character's story is a clliffhanger she gets lost in First World somewhere.

There's no point, just an enervation trap and a locked door inside that will only open after you complete a certain quest late game.

If you take the deal,
you're gonna end up fighting the monsters, and when you go back there, you'll find the general fighting monsters and Varn relieves her of the duty, like Horned Hunter said.

Also, am I only one who thought that the Armag's Tomb fight was easy? To be fair, I was buffed to hell, but still.

He was cake every time I fought him. I had more trouble with the thing upstairs.

But that’s a trend. Like Vordekai and the Water Elementals/Three Demons.

Losing motivation to keep playing this. I am nearly at Chapter 3 but just bored of repeating the same thing over and over. Go to a little area, run around ganking shit. Repeat over and over. Tougher fights are slightly more fun but I still only really have to cast my same spells I did on the previous 50 tougher fights. I am not interested in the story at all or the barony management. I only really play for the combat and even that has got old. Should I just give up or does the combat change much in the later chapters?

Oh yeah you gotta play House on the edge of time. It's best combat! Push forward it will be great!

Thanks, I was able to load an older save and redo that part, passed the intimidate check and resolved the situation to my satisfaction.

Does anyone know if I'm able to get the hero-ending for Nok-Nok if
I tell him to tear down the Lamashtu-shrines?

I think that would just drag it out and make everything take longer.

Change your tactics to entertain yourself or give up.
Infinity Engine games are not know for being especially hard.

:/ Thanks. I will keep going until it becomes too boring then I'll move on to something else. I may replay it some day with weird deliberately less uber characters.
