Anyone else thinking that wizard is pretty useless as damage dealer later on? Octavia is constantly missing and doing almost no damage at all....she is at 30 int. The best magic damage dealer is Tristian for me. I am not talking about buffs and debuffs here, pure damage.
octavia can deal absurd damage with multi ray touch spell and sneak attack.
she is not a pure wizard not really comparable with one.

Not really.

Midget magic smuggler gave me Empowered + Maximized masterpiece rod before pitax. Chain lightnings etc. are pretty amazing with it.

But with Bugfinder sneak attack mechanics, there's no reason to go pure wizard when you have arcane trickster. Level 10 sneak attack gimmick sounds insane.
I know how to... make a op character.
Not if you don't know what Sirocco is.
I cannot emphasize this enough.
Get Sirocco.
Not to be confused with Scirocco:

Sirocco+phantasmal web+horrid witting. Acid spells for extra lulz. Anything still standing will be a food for your summons or dragon form.
If you don't have Horrid Wilting yet, Cloudkill. By the time you get level 6 spells your CC/AoE is quite strong.

Octavia's first level spells are still good, too. I always use Snowball and it seems to hit and smash enemies as a supplemental spell attack. Her higher level spells are of course good too, but I always like right clicking that Snowball and just let her smash enemies. The impact sound is satisfying and I think it stacks with her sneak attack damage (not sure on that, though).

The dragon will kill itself with its own polar midnight if you make your entire team invisible and hide. It is perhaps the least threatening "boss encounter" in this game.

Not the point i am making,i know how to chease around it and make a op character, the other 5 are doing just fine. It is just disappointing that wizards are useless as damage dealers. BG1&2 are a lot more fun with mages. The only way they could be fun is by playing on the lowest enemy stats, that way they could actually hit and some damage. Being able to miss with a fireball to the face is retarded concept.
You didn't really do damage spells in BG as well. You Breached enemy mages and let your melee kill them. Only Horrid Wilting was used for damage and only vs some enemies.

Sword Saint and Grenadier are totally balanced.

Before, this ended in a tpk...
:balance:
Nice.
Where do you find Thundercrack? I heard its location was bugged in 1.0 and it wasn't lootable.
Is it better than Bear God Scimitar?

I guess I shouldn't be procrastrinating with the kingly management duties so much, because the long queue of visitors awaiting in the throne room resulted in cutscenes going haywire. My druid got visited by
the nymph
in the body of Varrusk the half orc smith... Not sure if it's a bug, or a portent of things to come.

Don't see how don't knowing a spell impedes my fighter making abilities. I haven't seen the spell tho, maybe i hive miss it somehow, will wait for an level up that allows me to get it.

I just finished Armag tomb and found out that
i can't have Dugath as my chief.
Anyone knows why?

I think it's a bug, he wasn't around when I finished the tomb either and he was definitely still alive.
I tried killing Armag and sparing Armag and it didn't seem to matter, Dugath never even showed up in the scene either time.

I forgot where I got it, sorry. :(
Do you remember what chapter at least?
I'm guessing Pitax since that was the buggiest for me, and because Thundercrack was definitely not a Sinmarket item.

If i only knew how bad it is written i would have chosen the lets drink and eat option. Now i have to wait for 2 loadscreens.

The first one all about peace and meh faggotry.
The second makes me sound like a pompous paladin with his head up his ass.....i am a rogue.
Third one is like some fucking communists and not like good chaotic rogue....total decline.
The fourth one is for the capeshit emos.

I finally started playing this. The character creation alone is worth the full price. :obviously:
Like a toddler playing with the cardboard box instead of the toy inside :decline:
Don't knock the cardboard box men.
I know. It is so cute the way toddlers play with the box and to see the sheer joy they get out of it.

But even more hilarious is the fanbois who went nuts at my post. They are worse than SJWs.

Checked a saved at the end of ch.4 and I didn't have it so yup, somewhere in or around Pitax it was. Maybe the Castle of Knives? I remember I got some good loot there.

Thanks :brodex: I specifically remember an inaccessible chest in the Menagerie and I'm guessing that's where it is.

Nothing wrong with playing around trying to make interesting or strong builds.
In fact I'd argue that it's a pretty good thing to do so, and to discuss them, considering how poorly that information is communicated in the game. :salute:

I commented on your post. But I don't have the game or ever played it. I just like to shitpost and throw kindle to the fire.
:troll::evilcodex::troll:

Maybe I'm not putting much effort on making my shitpost obvious. I knew if I stopped using the smilie, people would start taking me serious:

Of course not. But I see that you missed the joke. Nevermind. The Codex is full of humourless fanbois, it seems.

Can someone please explain Eldritch Scion for dummies? I'm having a hard time understanding how I get him to cast a touch spell while also attacking. Do I have to continually pause to do so?

You have to lead with the touch spell and then everything should happen automatically (as long as you have one hand free obviously).
It should go cast spell > weapon attack to deliver spell > regular attacks.
If you interrupt your regular attacks with a spell, it isn't a free action to cast after you've already started attacking.

Magic Missile, Chain Lightning, Sirocco, Scorching Ray, Fireball spells especially the Controlled Fireballs ones which you can spam, Disintegrate, etc.
Not to mention the Dragon Forms are always awesome. And her Dragon Form is the only one in my party that can deal with Pitax's last boss (I didn't use Jublilost).
