Can someone please explain Eldritch Scion for dummies? I'm having a hard time understanding how I get him to cast a touch spell while also attacking. Do I have to continually pause to do so?
make sure spellstrike and spell combat toggles are on.
he casts spell, he gets it in his offhand as a magic circle. he keeps it loaded until a weapon hit.
rest is autoattacks.
just set touch of fatigue to autocast and observe.
--
you don't have to cast a touch spell every round. think like this, does your octavia spam high level ray spells every round or just acid touch?
but if you want to do that outside autocast. yes you should pause every round start.

so i read some pathfinder wiki, man the lore is wack. they actually have androids, robots, AI, spaceships, even russia canonically exist in the universe
https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Russia
I actually liked the module where you travel to Russia. The prior modules involve you teleporting around the world and to different planets. Then you show up in this cold world and decimate a bunch of conscripted troops with firearms in an effort to defeat Rasputin.

And here an image from the coronation of my new play-through, a crusader Aassimar.

Look at the banner behind Lady Jamandi, you can see her shadow cast by the light halo on it, at first I was amazed at the level of realism, and then I thought it better and was appalled. Do we really need something so small such as this to have all the shadows it casts calculated in an isometric cRPG? With stuff like this, it is no wonder the game has such high requirements and runs so poorly even on modern systems.
First thing I do when I play every modern rpg is to turn shadows bloom and every such crap off. Even if my computer can handle the performance, I couldnt give two damns about whether shadows are realistic or not. If you want realistic shadows go play FPS and their like.

Sword Saint and Grenadier are totally balanced.

Before, this ended in a tpk...
:balance:
that fight is strangely easy.
it make sense because the game train your team hard in counter CC and elemental damage

I only turn of stuff like bloom and DoF effects which I find annoying usually. Shadows on the other hand give me a good illusion of "depth" for a three dimensional environment. Well done shadow portrayal helps me with "muh immursionz".

I just finished Armag tomb and found out that
i can't have Dugath as my chief.
Anyone knows why?
I think it's a bug, he wasn't around when I finished the tomb either and he was definitely still alive.
I tried killing Armag and sparing Armag and it didn't seem to matter, Dugath never even showed up in the scene either time.

I also had the bug when I played, reading here that Dugath drops rad items made it sting even worse :argh:.

How much perception do you need to find Carnival Glade? Apparently 33 is not enough. :(

edit: nvm, 35 was the answer.

I had that location revealed by a "Scout Pitax" project, guess those are useless AF if you have the PER.

Anyone else thinking that wizard is pretty useless as damage dealer later on? Octavia is constantly missing and doing almost no damage at all....she is at 30 int. The best magic damage dealer is Tristian for me. I am not talking about buffs and debuffs here, pure damage.

Quite aptly, I ran across this thread in Reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker/comments/a02b51/so_uh_octavia_just_oneshoted_a_dragon/
That is not a wizard, that is a this game's version of Arcane Trickster.

Yes, but they are both talking about Octavia who is very clearly specced to go AT.
AT is broken, for sure. I'm not sure they'll even fix it since stupid Paizo told them in one of the dev streams that they love how Sneak Attack was implemented.

Yes, but asking if wizards are useful and then mentioning Octavia who is probably 2x more useful than normal wizards was a mistake from the start.

That needs to be said.

EDIT: also best way to fix Octavia would be to remove Accomplished Sneak Attacker from the game. Let people lag 2 caster levels instead.

Made it to ch.6 and
The House at the Edge of Time is some tedious bullshit. I hate that teleporting fog gimmick and how every fight is Wild Hunt after Wild Hunt. Their archers are especially ridiculous since those fuckers have the firing rate of a machine gun and absolutely no issue in hitting a guy with some 60AC + Displacement. Especially lovely is that fight on the upper floor where the fucking fog also act as a barrier after the fight starts. Well, guess what fuckos? That shit works both ways and I can still cast Sirocco through it. :smug:
It is really really tedious. Chapter 7 is a little bit better but mostly you can expect more of the same type of badly designed encounter.
What is nice is that you can get help from allies you made earlier in the game
which is also fucking bullshit because the Wild Hunt gaze stunlocks them, Armag and his barbarians for example contributed nothing :argh:

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Is there a bug with the dark epidemic? Four of these tage have come up now as well as a tag listed as a problem stating the kingdom will be destroyed in 2 months. I've got Tristian and Harrim working on x2 dark epidemic projects, and just got a visit from
the noble about finding his brother, which leads to Vordakai
but I can't remember from my last playthrough if Varnhold was before or after solving the epidemic.

I've got a feeling my main quest hasn't triggered properly and I'm gonna lose my kingdom again. I paid special attention to it this time, all stats above 50 - apart from espionage and arcan - with community and loyalty above 90.

Yeah, the gaze stunlock is some more bullshit. And they regenerate too. Who the hell though up this shit? I'm seriously considering dropping the difficulty and just move on.
Blind Fight should make you immune to gaze attacks after patch 1.1.
I turned the difficulty down at 2 points in the game - Siroket fight because it's bugged, and Chapter 6 because the copy-pasted fights were so boring.
Turn it back up for the Misbegotten Troll fight though!

Wild Hunt regenerate as long as there is Monarch in radius of X miles or so. He is also supposed to Reincarnate them if they fall but I'm not sure if that's in the game.

Too bad they lack Wind Walk, their horses and hounds. I want to seem some on horses like in IWD2 goblins on wolves.

And black tentacles spell. It's great spell their archers have.

What did you expect from the stat bloat? You either end up with rocket tag or Realms of Arkania style warrior-vs-warrior match-ups.

For those who don't know RoA style melee, you can basically parry an incoming melee attack. Two warriors with high parry basically sit there and parry and parry and parry and parry and... oh! Critical fail on parry. HIT! Oh, wait, you have enough HP to tank a half-dozen hits or more...

How does it compare to NWN 2?

You think it's impossible? Then it's new mechanics.

Well it is really bad choice of companions on their part. You have a ranger, fighter, barbarian and a rogue, then you have octavia and he cuckboy which are almost mages then you have three clerics and two similar to clerics in the face of the gnomes. And the worst part is that the most frequent weapon is the fucking duelling sword that nobody uses.
