I didn't use scimitars last time (I didn't use Reggie much), but I think I found a few +4s and +5s towards the end, and also midgame options before that.

Kukris had a good progression ever since Nok-Nok showed up, but I don't remember what happened late game.

+4, +5, sure. But what about other cool mods? There is one that looks very good at first sight, but is not particularly potent in practice (unless you play a shapeshifter with a companion, I suppose).

Kukuris basically top at like +4, with like 2d6 elemental, which is rather poor.

Is this good enough for late game ?! (I've no idea)
Thanks nwn2 for the icon o//

Its... workable I guess. But very far from top tier weapons.

So what would it needs ?
Keen + Agile ?
Some use of truestrike as swift action x/day ?

Greater Invis would be better than True Strike. Pounce would be insane. Profane + 4 DEX evil only. Think further outside the box for top end weapons.

Could be worse. Speaking of which, this reminds me. Perfection is the best Long Sword in the game.

Close, but no cigar. For a damage oriented character, Redeemer is far better. Of course Perfection is nearly guaranteed, and I haven't gotten the Redeemer yet...

It's not a matter of thinking outside the box, it's a matter of me having absolutly 0 interest in endgame maingame, hence no way to identify the needs and shortcomings

I understand, but I am also interested in what happens the rest of the time. I also fundamentally like the concept of "regular weapon" for each companion, as we have discussed before. Now, whether I can make such a concept work within the framework of Kingmaker... well, that's exactly what I am working on. Well, there are also a few sweet feats for specialized builds!

Are there? Perhaps something to try to determine next time through. I'm suggesting by "regular weapon" you think in terms of "two-hander" for your Cleaving Freebooter, say, or "agile/utility simple" for Linzi, instead of assuming you'll get more specialized than that. The opportunity cost for doing so can be steep.

I'd love to approach it like this. However there are 3 problems :
1. If you're not a Magus (or paladin?), you can't put keen on your weapon and most good arms don't come with that property. That's a double PITA in Kingmaker, as you're halving not only the number of crits your character can make, but also number of Opportunities for bonus attacks with teamwork feats like Outflank and Seize the Moment.
2. For non rangers/slayers, Shatter Defences requires Weapon Focus as a prerequisite and its possibly the best feat in the game. Using a different weapon then you have a Focus in might be acceptable sometimes, but it hurts the powergamer in me.
3. Some of the best weapons in the game come from exotic types (Fauchards, elven curved blades, falcatas, estocs, bastard swords) and these naturally require dedication.

By endgame I mean lvl 20. Same would apply to Depths. You could add something like precision immunity bypass to let you sneak Golems.

She says something about how well your kingdom is doing. Wonder if it’s gated behind something.
It probably does. The question is a matter of contention though. What exactly are the prerequisites.. A year later, and such info is still unknown...

Well, AFAIR Desiderius got it?

I think it's more a matter of random seeds. And number of tests once you reach Tier 5 is limited (and dominated by Masterworks). I've only been end game twice, so it's not exactly a significant test sample.

The goal of my revamp is to ditch the Golems bs ^^

Is there any items atm in game that bypass precision immunity ?!

6ft-reach weapons were a disappointment, almost every tier was of a different type.

Both +2 Flaming Glaive (ch2) and Incomparable Petal (ch 5) are always available (non-artisan) and martial. So if you have a toon who you want to fight with reach you can just use Glaive. You'll eventually hit some decent Longspears if you just want to flank with a non-martial without attacking much, but Tristian doesn't even have simple proficiency so can't use those. The master Fauchard is very good but very narrow, and the other ones are artisan dependent, so you can always fight with best available then get the exotic prof late, though you can't get focus (and shatter) without proficiency. Of course if you're determined to crit fish with it, just fight with a crappy one and improved crit until something better shows up. Depths has +2 frost and Rinderpest has +3.
