SR should not be a big problem with GSP feat and gear so long as you stay pure caster and do not lose caster levels.
I only noticed SR to be a real problem when you try to clean some locations underleveled, like Dire Narlmarches in chapter 2. Some fey there has a class (sorc) levels on top of their generic "fey" levels and pretty high SR.
It is a less of an issue in the endgame where you could spend later feats on Spell Penetration + items.

Why exactly is it better than Icy Prison. Or Dominate Monster for that matter.
Icy Prison is Evocation, Vinetrap is Conjuration. Conjuration ignores spell resistance and lot of enemies has it in the game due to fey templates. Pairs nice with Stinking Cloud, Glitterdust and Grease for a school focus (Sylvan sorc gets it through bloodline). Heighten spell helps them to get higher DC.

Dominate Monster is enchantment, worst school in P:K - fey, undead, constructs and etc all have blanket immunities.

What do you mean "conjuration ignores spell resistance". The Vinetrap description says it is affected by SR?

Oops, I mixed it with Chains of Lights a bit, two similar conjuration spells but only Chains are are not affected by SR. And ignore Freedom of Movements on top (and other immunities probably).

Got the endless loading bug. Fixes seem to be: right click exe > compatibility > disable visual themes. Or delete registry key, or enable borderless fullscreen.

None of that shit worked.

Wait for the next patch?

Well, VineTrap does work on undead (like a certain lich). I guess its comparable to Icy Prison. I think it also Entangles enemy on passed save.
Also I tend to focus more on Conjuration CC, so have better DCs... the Rod of Power Source with +4 DC is real nice also.

Chris Avellone's RPG Module and Kickstarter Wrap Up

Greetings, Pathfinders!

The time has come — the pen and paper adventure module “The Puzzle Box” is here!

We hope you enjoy the work of Chris Avellone and writers from our team, who created this adventure! And we are waiting for your stories from the game. We have social media accounts, read through steam and GoG forums, Reddit, we also have two Discord servers: one for Kingmaker, another one for Wrath of the Righteous. We’re waiting for your feedback on any of those platforms!

If the adventure is part of your game edition, you will find it in the “Digital Rewards” folder of Pathfinder: Kingmaker. If it isn’t — please, verify integrity of your game files. If it still won’t appear — please, create a thread about this issue in Bug Report section.

We also want to express our deepest gratitude to the testers, who ran several parties and provided a lot of feedback. Without them it would take much more time to playtest the adventure. Their help was invaluable.

And thank you all for your patience and support - this wouldn't be possible without it.

With that, 2019 is coming to an end and 2020 is bringing new opportunities. It was a busy year for us: DLCs, updates, sending remaining rewards, start of development and the announcement of a new project…

But there are still some things unfinished and we want to wrap them up. We are closing the Pathfinder: Kingmaker campaign on the 10th of January. And you still have time to receive your reward if it hasn’t reached you yet! Please, contact us via team@owlcatgames.com . We will help your reward find its way to you. They are waiting for their owners in the warehouse and they are so lonely... Please, don’t leave them on the New Year holidays!

If you have any other related issues - you can also contact us via team@owlcatgames.com

Being good to romance Nyrissa is a big flaw though. I wonder why they wouldn't implement something like the Practical incarnation vs Deionarra instead.
Not really. You need to be nice and romancy towards Nyrissa XX number of times. Without being good that means you have to choose the right answer every single moment you meet. With good you get one extra check.

Chippy, the first thing I would try is reboot the machine. This fixes all my issues. However, I never get that message you got.

I keep reading that you do not need to be good to romance Nyrissa (now, pre EE you needed to be good and needed the "extra check" for sure)... but where are the direct hand experiences? Did you romance her as evil MC?

Also that's not my point. My point was, it would have been cool if they implemented some "evil" dialogues in which you manipulated Nyrissa to fall in love with you.

For an evil char it would have been much better.

Martial heavy crit builds tend to push more damage. Magi tend to do similar average damage (lower relaxed, higher burst) and be much better defense-wise.

I had dmg output in mind. Forget magi/ss/whatever. What you mean by martial heavy crit build? 2H Fighter? Does it have an higher dmg output than a 2H slayer or a sneak attacker dual wielding using steelwind? I am curious because my motherless tiefling steelwind TWF slayer atm, wthout buffing has 9 attacks per round capable of sneak attacks (plus 2d6 with the necklace of double cross) without haste or any buffing.

The problem is that with sneak attack being so OP, all other classes suck in comparison when they don't have it.

This includes Duelist, parry working or not.

No. Sneak isn't the end all be all. Two handed fighter, pure, makes for a decent DPS.

Did anyone do the math? Same question for Haplo

I did not. However the sneaks are not multiplied on crits and you need to set them up (not difficult but still). Also Attacks of Opportunity benefit a lot more from fewer but heavier blows. I really don't feel sneak attackers have a significant advantage here.

Much appreciated. It was either that, or something odd with Cephal Lorentus when I switched the staff before the tomb entrance in Varnhold's Lot. I also did the sodding about with the registry key and setting the borderless window setting to 3. It was at 1 even though it said it was on borderless windows in the game.

Quite frankly I don't know what the fuck happened, but it's working now.

Yeah who cares about 350 extra damage per round, not a significant advantage

I think it depends on weapon a lot. Vanquisher with its 17-20x3 crit and +15 damage is probably strongest 2-hander in the game and would cover all the difference with sneaks in one crit. Fauchards are similar with Serpent Prince and Mastery's additional "attacks" from bite+trip. Elven Curved swords has +5 Bane of the Living for 150 dmg Harm on crit procs. Additional hits with such weapons from Cleaving Finish and Outflank are brutal.

Comparing to some kukries or even worse sais (horrible crit range) you can build up to 4-5d6 difference in base weapon damage dices with enlargement spells/lead blades (does not work well with DEX builds). This alone covers half of "maximum" 10d6 sneak on lvl 18 and does not rely on flanked/flat-footed. And multiplied on crit, like Power Attack and STR bonus.

Beside, magi have 3d6 elemental + 2d6 Bane + 2d6 Holy/Axiomatic on high levels, it is, roughly, 7d6 sneak.

Except for the part where you can have all those things AND 35 SNEAK ATTACK DAMAGE PER HIT ON TOP OF THAT

I often use Eldritch Scion Reg for this kind of thing (Vanquisher axe) and he totally does not need dip into sneak classes to cripple his Weapon enchantment progression.

Same way I sometime build divine melee full casters (cleric, oracle) with 2 handers - Fauchards, Elven Curved Blades, and I would never delay their spell access with attempts to get some sneak on top.
Even with something as simple as basic Amiri I would restrict rogue/vivi dipping for 2-3d6 sneak to avoid slowing her Rage + Rage Powers progression.

Last thing I need is to built my whole party around gimmick that gets totally neutered every time I encounter the immune to precision damage enemy.

Exactly. Besides the points I already mentioned, Precision damage gets regularly cut due to Precision resistance or DR. Crits don't help here. Plus enemies with Uncanny Dodge (hence tricky to sneak attack) are not exactly rare.

So, Yosharian, did you actually play the game at last?

Those are fair points. I'm not suggesting dips just to get sneak.

I haven't played for a while. Waiting for patching to finish
