But either only SOME instances were fixed or the issue came back.
Which is entirely possible because, judging by 2 technical updates for WotR, their Kingmaker code was not well structured (probably at the level of buggy spaghetti). In this case fixing one instance does not say anything about all the other similar, but different ones.
Might explain how they managed to break some of the NPCs with each patch.

patching for Kingmaker is "complicated".
More like "completed" :argh:

They just fixed a bug last month that was crucial to resuming my first playthrough. I'd be hard-pressed to come up with five bugs left in the game, let alone countless. Don't let the haters bully you into nonsense because you're afraid they'll call you a shill. Owlcat has been slow but steady in cleaning up the bugs. There's no evidence that they're done yet.
Hard-pressed to come up with five bugs? I mean, yeah, most bugs have been solved, but there are still enough that "coming up with five of them" shouldn't be an issue:
- sneak attacks on ray spells with multiple rays doesn't work as it should;
- Magic Vestment doesn't work as it should;
- you can stack bite attacks from multiple sources and that's not how it works in Pathfinder;
- if you convert one of your spells into Summon Monster/Summon Nature's Ally, you can't choose to summon more creatures;
- bear's rend ability doesn't work as it should: it activates even if you hit two different enemies with your claw attacks

These are the first five off the top of my head, there are a lot more.

Still, Owlcat did an amazing job fixing the broken mess that Kingmaker was at release, the remaining problems are just minor issues.

Monk style strikes don't work as intended. Hammerblow doesn't seem to be giving the damage modifier. Defensive spin is also bugged. It works even if you deactivated it. I believe they still haven't fixed crane style.

Most of those bugs are likely balance decisions. Obv Hammerblow and stuff like Endurance not giving Athletics a boost are still ingame.

Game has a lot of really good weapons and items. Only way Rays can compete is to allow their quasi-iterative attacks to get Sneaks like weapons do. Three long-lasting group buffs DNE munchkinism.

Citation given.

Here's weapon that gets four attacks with Sneaks on each one.

Or you could really go off:

Why am I supposed to use Scorching Ray instead? Math doesn't work. Occasionally you have to use Touch (like Bokken) but there Scorching Ray with no Sneaks wouldn't be enough damage vs the alternatives either.

I'll have some pics of pure caster Octavia on the bow for Armag's coming up.

Can confirm: Bane spell/wand opens Gates of the Dead without going to Barb Camp.

It's very unlikely that they are balance decisions. If the "sneak attack for each ray" was a balance decision, they wouldn't have tried to fix it. But they did.

The other ones make literally zero sense as "balance decisions", come on. They are obviously the result of poor implementation decisions.

it's problems all the way down, sneak shouldn't be so easy to pull off, and more enemies should be resistant to it and to just being whacked with blunt and spikey instruments.

I'm entirely serious. Each one of the cases you mentioned would be far less viable working like PnP. They made some changes for the cRPG format. It doesn't do any good to call them bugs just because that makes you unhappy.

Endurance saying it gives you +2 Athletics while not giving you +2 Athletics is a bug. Letting Octavia's quasi-iterative Rays get sneaks so that she can keep up (barely) with Kanerah (who gets infinite casts!) or her own weapon attacks is just prudent design. She still has a hard time making it off the bench over Jubilost who has an easier time getting higher DCs. Once she hits Surprise Spells she's good but if Fireballs can sneak everyone why shouldn't multiple Rays?

That's fucking ridiculous, I thought they fixed that? No wonder people are still raving about Tricksters.

No one is raving about Tricksters until they hit AT10 and get Surprise Spells. My Cleavebooter Amiri was doing Surprise Spell damage on her Cleaves at lvl 11.

OMG. Call of the wild is amazing. Not only i an loving Witch but i also an loving a Oracle companion. of bone "mystery". She is a "divine sorcerer", with some cool unique abilities and despite being 7th level, she can cast one animate dead as a spell like ability and 5 more as a tier 3 spell. Later i will create a Arcanist companion to test Arcanist.

Vestment is a close call. People like to wear the fun armors and robes. You'd have to revamp the whole itemization to get some non-magical armor that still was worth wearing. Regular armor is already underpowered vs Bracers and armorless shenanigans. Vestment as working in P:K helps it compete. Likewise it's not as easy as it looks to make bites relevant. Stuff dies (if you're flanking something else is attacking it) or kills you before you get in that sixth or seventh attack or you've got to move (doesn't work with Reach) costing you your full attack for that turn. Motherless costs you a feat and a lot of skill points (that - INT hurts) vs Human. It's useful to have some skills on MC.

Summons are already OP. Bear's Rend ability is the weakest of the Wild Shape abilities, it should work as you describe. Still almost never worth it.

If they weren't design decisions then they would be bugs, but we don't know that and they make sense as design decisions.

Latest build I've compiled from the sources has summoner class. I am running it with inevitable eidolon in the shape of an Iron Golem. Seems working as intended.

So Linzi has a new thing she does (well):

Linzi Going Off.jpg

Agai proceeded to whack him for 98 pts of damage, so that worked out well. My MC Grenadier who's now been knocked off by enemy archer fire three times (pleasant AI surprise) will no doubt be grateful. Speaking of which...

The tide turns.jpg

I like to play the Ntavi ambush like a real ambush (no prebuff, for Sawyer's sake), which makes it a decent challenge on Unfair. The tide turned when Tristian, using the Leviathan's Gift Robe to Maximize it to get enough healing to overcome Unfair, used Inspiring Recovery to bring back MC Grenadier from the dead, and then Linzi guilted the bastard who killed him into joining our side. MC hit him with his new bomb which will soon be owning the restless occupants of Vordokai's Tomb who think their immunities will protect them from their weak Will saves.

MC Grenadier's New Bomb (works vs Demons and Undead).jpg

Funny how he got the buff from Inspiring Recovery despite being on the other side when it happened. Harrim got taken down by a lucky hit just as he was about to DC 25 Banshee Blast away half the enemy forces, which is what made things so challenging.

Cheese Crosata.jpg

Speaking of Harrim, he loves some Cheese Crostata, which gives you an extra 6 hours of travel before becoming fatigued, but lets him get the lowdown on all the Undead/Demon stats so we can better target their weaknesses.

Insane Wizard fight.jpg

This is a fight where it helps to stack Perception on everyone to get a sense of where things stand. One of a few places where Find Traps comes in handy, but Amiri got lucky and beat the Clerics to the punch.

MC has just disarmed the hard to see trap that can make this a tough fight if you stumble into it. His Trickery is just high enough not to worry about getting burned by that tough trap at the bottom of the screen.

Getting the Jump.jpg

Stealth + See Invis makes the fight trivial, since we get the jump on the invisible wiz.

Chains on Wizard.jpg

After he made several consecutive 30% Concentration checks, Tristian put him out of his misery targeting his weak save. The reward was mauch needed by my MC Grenadier to get his Bomb DCs up to 28.

Which would come in very handy for the next fight vs the Ancient Soul Eaters...

That insane wizard is such a pushover.

Imagine how much harder he would be if he had some pre-buffs and a quickened good spell ready.
