Good lord, similarities don't mean shit when it comes to deciding whether a game is good or not.
Whether they're good or not wasn't the point of discussion, whether they can be compared or not was. Similarities invite comparison.

That's the point. As everyone knows, BG2 had a way worse story than BG1, precisely because it was so obvious and predictable, some whiny emo elf going on and on about his bullshit for 100 hours. In Shitmaker, they replaced him with the world's ugliest nymph. Filling in tiny details is not the same as following an interesting mystery.
The arc of every chapter is a distinct mystery, Nyrissa's motivations remain a mystery until late in the game, then it turns out she wasn't the one behind everything after all. You can reduce any story to "tiny details" if you start with a broad enough brush.

And what does it tell you that BIS removed the time limit shortly after launch?
The timer for the main quest, the water chip, never got removed, retards still complain. If you can't figure out the time limits in KM you're dumb or not paying attention.

You seem very perky in defense of Shitmaker. Like a one man Shitmaker Defense Force.
No I'm just the only one gullible enough to engage with you.

What do this even mean? More difficult than you enjoy playing.
It's not hard to understand. If you found the game frustratingly difficult, then you probably prefer playing games that are not as difficult because their difficulty doesn't frustrate you.

Let's be honest, when you saw this, you laughed and you cried.
Whoever pity-laughed at your joke once and convinced you you're funny has done you, and more importantly this forum, a great disservice.

That normal is not really normal. If you check the settings it sets, some of them are on the easy side. There is no standard normal DnD setting in Shitmaker that sets everything to standard difficulty.
If you want "standard difficulty" per PnP, play Ironman and figure out a way to let your DM control the mobs.
Or just fiddle with it for 90 seconds until you've got the custom difficulty you want.
I would prefer this thread to be praising furry instead of feeding a troll, but it's just me.
OK I'll stop.
Furries are gay though and Kitsune were the gayest option in the WotR poll.

We’ve all tried to engage him at one point or another. He wanted to tank and spank* a game whose whole point is transcending tank and spank and he’s too arrogant/ignorant to understand why any game would want to.

Many such cases.

* - his first big complaints were from the Hargulka fight where tank and spankers first hit a hard wall.

Linzi:

(1) primary attribute is CHR
(2) gets racial bonus to Perception
(3) Bardic Knowledge makes her better at Knowledge/Lore than any other companion

That’s seven skills she’s better suited for than Trickery. Stealth even beats it since she can splash Thug and start every fight with an irresistible Mass Fear with Stealth + Dazzling Display.

Best Trickery specialists are:

(1) MC
(2) Octavia (she starts with Skill Focus and ends up with infinite skill puts)
(3) Jub (same w/o Focus)

Linzi sounds like ¡Jeb! because he’s a teenage girl.

The best Trickery specialist is an Arcane Trickster, because his or her Ranged Legerdemain allows infinite tries without save / load. -5 to DC is a minor penalty comparing to infinity.

Not the way it’s implemented unfortunately. In any case by midgame you should be at the point where you never set off traps even if you don’t auto-disarm yet.

The fact that this game can inspire such butthurt speaks to its qualities if I'm being frank.

Most of the hardcore butthurt is PnP fans so I do hope they put a good PnP emulator in WotR so they’ll talk it up instead of trying to undermine it. No reason not to really.

I never thought I'd see a proper D&D RPG get its console port... Oh well, at least they're implementing turn-based mode. That's enough for me to swallow my dislike of the game's mediocre characters and give it another go.

Don't you consider Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment proper D&D RPGs?

My MC always has trickery. I don't like not being able to pick locks during the solo segments.

Its a good investment early on. Pays much better personal XP then Persuasion initially. But after level 10-12 better to focus on Persuasion and have someone else focus on Trickery.

Oh really? Try PotD Gorecci Street + Digsite without some serious tactics/optimization. Infinite butthurt from 2 starter areas...
>implying I'd ever replay Trashfire
It's a moot point anyway, Kingmaker difficulties are more difficult than their Trashfire or PoE equivalents.

For some reason "Enemy stat adjustments" isn't on Normal, put it on Normal and you have core rules difficulty...I guess it's a little late for this, isn't it?

But then you would finish on Custom difficulty, wouldn't ya, and every cunt in this thread would've said I beat it on Easiest or some shit. No thanks. Besides, much like Toiletman, you are missing the fucking point. Core Rules should be an option, not something you have to read through a long list of options to figure out. The design decision not to include it is retarded and shows the level of stupidity of the devs that translates into every other aspect of the game.

So you didn't play on the difficulty that was right for you because you were afraid the other kids would make fun of you? Man, high school must have been tough.
