I don't think initiative is all that important, even on Unfair. Just check your rolls and if you rolled low initiative, run away for a round until it resets and you're no longer flat-footed. I agree though, if you just charge in blindly, you might get wrecked.
This is your brain on RTwP, guys. Please seek help

In TB it's really different since often you want enemies to come to you so you can full attack them.

Initiative is the most important thing in the game on both, which is another reason why the monk splash on Saint is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Now of course you can always kite like InEffective but that’s where “this game is a slog” comes from. Only thing that’s a slog for me is the buffing.

Psure if the enemies can't hit you initiative doesn't matter.

When I was doing character creation the only thumbs-up feat was point blank shot. Why would I want that for a plain magi?

Why does the trading post man sell only masterwork weapons? Something seems jank here.

Why is a tower shield 50 pounds???
If you use the better vendors mod you get access to better stuff as you level up.

It's not really useful if you plan to charge and stab, but you might want to throw rays. The only caster feats you might actually want are spell penetration, maybe, and metamagics. Otherwise it's Fighter feats all the way.

What, you wanted a random trading post literally in the middle of nowhere to sell magical gear? Wait until you found your kingdom and you'll get better merchants.

Why is a tower shield 50 pounds???
Have you seen that thing?
I would also caution you against giving a shield to your Magus, he needs a hand open for his touch spells.

Oleg has a complete set of masterwork weapons, though. And he has Bokken who is... well, good at using substances. And the local racket is coming for money. And there is a retired (?) member of Pathfinder Society in his house... And he moved there because he had problems (??) in a city...

Now I wonder what Oleg is actually trading at his Trading Post!

She’s worrying about how much it weighs because Val is questioning her life choices. We’ve all been there. Need to give her a lighter shield or more STR or she’ll just be slow fife awhile. Her CON helps her with the fatigue.

Yeah burning 2 feats to make my 1d4 cantrips hit more often doesnt sound worth it.

No, I wanted it to sell some normal affordable gear. This is the first store in the game. Nobody even has a helmet.

I would also caution you against giving a shield to your Magus, he needs a hand open for his touch spells.
He's not even allowed to use one anyway.

I'm playing unmodded and Oleg has continuously added new inventory, most recently a Light Crossbow +1 with +1d6 fire and Full Plate +1 (neither of which I'm planning to buy).

Should I buy the lesser empower/reach rods? Bought the extend one and always forget to use it. Reach sounds useful as I could be more precise when I open battle with Grease without aggroing the enemy before casting and it would help a lot with Linzi's pathetic ability to navigate a battlefield.

Boggard cave was interesting at level 4, almost cleared it in a single go but had to split the final chamber into two attempts and rest before the Champion as I was running low on CC and doing the entire room in one fight seemed impossible considering how much I struggled with just the first group in that condition.

Also, does anyone know whether CC-stacking works like in IE games? In BG 3x Web meant three saves per round, would 3x Grease do the same in KM? I know a new casting forces a save, but I'm not sure about the lingering effects and I haven't wanted to waste casts/actions to test it properly. The combat log from the Boggard Champion fight seems to point toward the stacking not working unless you stack different types like Grease+Web, but I'm not sure if that was due to positioning and only standing within the AoE of one of Greases.

Oh sure but the mod adds much better item progression and allows you to purchase better items in a non-immersion-breaking way in case you end up stuck without an improvement to your chosen weapon for a long time. Plus it's super lightweight and bug-free. But ofc it's your choice.

This game was fun for a few hours but now its bullshit. Just gobs and gobs of trash enemies wearing me down. I got attacked 7 times in a row while trying to camp.

Need to assign someone with Stealth to camouflage your camp. Skills matter in this game. On the other hand more EXP and loot for you.

I had linzi camoflaging, dead elf putting up skele guards and two guys on guard duty. Still got attacked 7 times in a row. This isn't fun.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
You literally have to try to get ambushed in this game. In all my time playing it happened to me only once, when I didn't assign someone to camouflage the camp. And it wasn't even the only time I didn't bother doing it.

Linzi should be improving everyone else’s competence. Do you have any other character with some Stealth? Where are you trying to rest?

Oh, I see. So when I was attacked by

1. Giant lizards
2. Lamia dragon guys
3. Shock lizard
4. Another shock lizard
5. Some giant wolves
6. Panthers
7. And pair of bandits,

I was just imagining it.

At the sycamore tree. I was attacking the caves under it. Thought it would be safer to go back outside to rest.

It doesn't help that I don't know where to get rations and a lot of the attacks are caused by amri failing at hunting.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
Yeah, the Sycamore has had me in the past too. It's fine... just use consumables. What doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. You ought to be fine.

It usually is. Oleg sells rations. Amiri uses Lore (Nature) to hunt. If you put Linzi in special slot she helps everybody else, including Stealth person.

No shame in turning down the difficulty until you get the game figured out.

I gave up on sycamore after finding a level 8 centipede on one end and level 5 mite priests on the other.

Oleg doesn't have any rations.

I just had the slaver ambush and had to turn down the enemy stat boosts to beat them. After I did they died really easily and only managed to hit my guys twice.

Combat seems to be all about figuring out which CC spells are the most retarded and then abusing them.

Oleg has rations.

You're bad at this (we all were).

You have a bad attitude (we didn't).

Git gud.
