Interesting.Depends on the amount of freedom and resources player has. And for some people, even Story mode is not Story enough.But... but... I thought you didn't have to alter P&P rulesets for digital? And for BALANCE?!?
Also I am not sure what are you talking about when saying altering rulesets. Altering enemy composition and levels is not altering rules.
True, but that's semantics. You got my point. I was teasing the fact that Owlcat - correctly IMO - identified that BAB vs. AC scaling has always been a problem in 3.5 and Pathfinder, making AC pretty useless unless you went all-in on it in one form or another. As such I don't even oppose the inflated stats myself.)
As for me, while I think giving enemies more levels is more elegant in terms of math/ruleset, when you already know what you want from an enemy in encounter (this is a fighter. he has expertise & trip.) giving more levels would just mean higher BAB & saving throws, which difficulty sliders in PK already do; meaning I wouldn't count that as far as "changing ruleset" (i.e. I do not agree on the level of "josh was rite, pnp is bad for computer games"). I also don't think players would enjoy being blasted with Cloudkill they can't counter instead of Fireball.
The truth is out there though - combat in PK is challenging and fun. Many fights are just not like any other fight. Tweaking all encounters for harder difficulties would be even more fun, but the amount of work required would be insane since it's effectively a 150+ hours game at this point.
