But ingame spell does not explain any of that, and where it says Target it needs to say One friendly Living creature, not just One friendly creature.
What if it's an unfriendly ally, or just a really surly dwarf?
Everything I hear about this game is a riot

When we arrived back at the capital, everyone decided that now was the time to complete their companion quests. Armiri asked to have her sword repaired to save her tribe, I spent a fortune repairing and after it was done, the quest never updated. The sword also cloned itself, several times. So, after trying to give her 3 versions of her sword, she refused all of them and the quest died then and there.

But Octavia is 2 levels behind the rest of your party when you first get her, making her level 2 in my game (unless you use an Editor, of course).

She was level 2.

You shouldn't have enabled this option, bros:

Yeah, the Metal Eater bow is... kinda crazy. They probably should've taken it out, or nerfed it, or just placed it somewhere in the end-game, I dunno. It's introduction and placement just reinforces my belief that nothing was playtested and that they were planning to do an itemization pass, but never had time for it and then the game was pushed out the door. On one hand, don't think it should exist, or at least not be placed where it is, but on the other hand I detest the idea of "balancing" in a singleplayer game, with developers going in and changing things like that after the fact.

Lul, not sure how I got "Metal Eater".

True enough, it is a Crit, but when you take into consideration that Samuel L. Jackson here hit another arrow in the same round for ~20 damage, it's definitively a little crazy. I'm thinking about just dumping the fucking thing and saving it for mid-game, but god damn the huge numbers are so satisfying. :mixedemotions:

So I'm a bit torn.

It's a fucking insane piece of hardware. No idea what they were thinking. Combine it with Enlarge Person and that spell that increases the size of your arrows by one step. Theoretically you should be shooting, what, Gargantuan Arrows?

Edit:
Medium (Base)->Large (Oversized Bow)->Huge (Enlarge Person)->Gargantuan (Spell); yup.

Doesn't Enlarge Person only affect melee weapons? Man, I've gotta try it with the bow now. :o

Octavia has Web :D
And as only wizard companion, I doubt anyone does not use her if they also don't have a wizard character.

I take it that you play with party levelling turned off. Also you get her around 2-3 level,it shouldn't be much behind you.

Also i beat the stag lord without the web spell. Used hold person on the last guys just before the go for the bell. A good positioning is important.

I haven't activated this option.

I know, it's somehow difficult to imagine, but there may be a bug involved here. Maybe switching to "custom" options messed something up and the displayed options are not the actual options.

Where do you get the metal eater bow?
Also I am Chaotic Evil now :(

"Devourer of Metal", actually, I fucked up the name. It's in one of the rooms on the first level in the Dwarven fortress, just explore the entire first floor and loot everything, it's not too hard to find.

I would advise against it, though, I've decided to bin it for now. Fucking thing is basically "Toggle God Mode", it's absurd.

I haven't checked the math or anything, but at least in 3.5, Enlarge Person enlarges everything you wear and carry.
I checked:

Yup, it works.

Edit: Also, reminder that Enlarge Person are low-level spells that last for minutes, and can easily be Extended. It is trival to run around with a 4d6 bow for every fight. This is crazy with or without the Devourer of Metal, but all things considered, I think that no, this should probably not be a thing in Chapter fucking 2.

Googled it - yep, it's a bug: https://steamcommunity.com/app/640820/discussions/0/3393916911744526319/?l=english&ctp=1

I should probably check the level of Tristian...

Edit: 6116 XP :negative:

Oh well, time for the character editor. I can try enabling the option and disabling it again. Maybe, the game then remembers the setting.

Enlarge Person is a king of low level spells. Reach is awesome.
I want to use Reduce Person, but I'm finding it too hard to suck uo the damage loss. I wonder if it can be used effectively vs. the trolls...

I use reduce person on the merc wizard/support cleric since he doesn't need need strength and the bonus DeX helps his AC. It's mainly good for prebuffing on ranged casters

Pope Amole II your min max builds are getting questioned for their mix maxiness!
TBH it is pretty bad spell selection examples indeed, and the whole review is meh. Enchantment is powerful, especially when stacked with items (my Linzi has +7 DC on Laughter just from items), but big part of game monsters are undead and fey who are either immune or very resistant to it on higher difficulties. Spell and other HD-based spells seem to work poorly due to enemies rising quite quick in HD even in prologue and sheer amount of things thrown at you. It is not BG, sadly sleep and color spray do allow saving throw here. Hold Monster etc. are all good if not for high enemy saving throws, Confusion is a bit better due to more saving throws made and it being useful against hordes. Skipping on stuff like Magic Missile which can be reliably spammed against that one single 999 AC thing is a big mistake, and skipping on stuff like Empower/Maximize is also a big mistake. Maximized Hellfire Ray and Polar Ray are some of the most devastating spells in the game. Although you can use metamagic from rods and items, I guess. Heroism, Greater Heroism, and other combinations of buffs to your BAB by stacking
-

The choice of specialisation doesn't matter though because there are easily enough spell slots that the free ones don't matter at all later on. And by later on I mean lvl 4 spellcasting so not that much later on. He is correct the lvl 8 enchantment special ability is fantastic.

He's definitely right about how enchanting/divinity is the most munchkin specialisation, but he dumps Abjuration which is insane because communal stoneskin is basically a free win if you spend the requisite amount of diamond dust. Necromancy is a free dump that school is awful.

.

Metal eater bow is actually pretty awful in most of the boss fights on higher difficulties. It's basically a trash mob muncher, makes the easy fights easier but you would never take the -2 to hit on harder fights.

Oh okay enlarge person ninja
