There's 40DC athletics check hidden room with glowy patterns in the Pithax palace basement. Is it possible to get there (you can only see it through a crack) or it's just some sort of flavour (part of a puzzle) ? Also, I got to castle of knives by mistake (and finished the quest) before going to the palace, it seems the LV8 spell that these people give you is bugged (I tried to use it as a fate point in Arcanum to do the said 40DC check), or it simply does not work for skill checks?

That's how it is supposed to work but people are claiming that it works for a whole round.
'k, lemme test. Level 12 inquisitor, ranged spec.

EDIT: Nope, only the first attack, not the first round. First round attack had +35 to hit, second attack had only 15
Doesn't sound right. Do you have Haste or Rapid Shot or something similar on? If your first attack is +35, then your second minus TS should be +10 (-20 for TS, -5 for second attack).

As I said, ranged spec. So yes, the second attack was from Rapid Shot. Thus two attack at full BaB, one with +20, the second one without.

It's possible to get there. It also hides one of the most difficult encounters in the game and the reward for beating is a pathetic 5.6k XP and a +1 Quarterstaff. Unless you're thirsty for unrewarding challenges, you can skip it without issue.

It's a level 20 ghostly wizard that has some 400 HP, a bajillion AC, immunity to elemental damage, some ~90% resistance to weapon damage and can spam Wail of The Banshee and Horrid Wilting as many times as he wants, although there seems to be a couple of rounds of cooldown involved. Oh, he also casts Shield at the beginning, so forget about Magic Missile and he casts Profane Nimbus, so even if you use Regognar and enchant the weapon with Ghost Touch, you're still probably more likely to kill yourself with it faster than the wizard. I honestly don't know if this fight is doable without the kind of cheese I beat it with

Yeah, that's a good point. I didn't think about that.

Does he also cast Dispel Magic on you? This sounds like a perfect case for full Death Ward and Spell Resistance buffs on party and then spam Greater Dispel Magic until you get rid of some of those protections. Spam AoE healing to counter that Horrid Wilting.

Can't say I've noticed him using Dispel. Then again, Death Ward only gives you a +4 save against Death effects rather than making you immune, so Wail of the Banshee will insta-gib everyone who fails their Fort save, and that will be most people in the party. No AoE healing can counter that. Plus, when he's not casting WoB and Horrid Wilting, he can also cast Prismatic Spray at-will and Death Ward does not help there.

I beat him by summoning several Guardian Armor (7th Level spell "Create Undead"), who, being Undead, are immune to both WoB and HW. While he was busy with them, I had Harrim cast 3 Blade Barriers on him that, surprisingly, do full damage to the fucker. It sill took me about 10 reloads until the RNG was kind enough to let Guardian Armors survive the Prismatic Spray barrage for long enough to allow Blade Barriers to shred his 400+ HP.

Conclusion:

And the saddest thing is that to wait for " patches "with a sinking heart, by and large, there is no need: Pathfinder: Kingmaker – a typical uncomplicated" heroic fantasy " with hypertrophied flat characters and naive themes. Yes, it is written in good language, it has good moments and memorable characters (say, preaching despair dvarf-priest), but in General, this story is simply not worth the suffering that must be endured for her. Emotional attachment to the partner? Well, if they deign to talk to you normally three or four times (160-180 hours!). Love lines? I have not been able to see any, and still can not imagine, "bug it or feature." Plot twists? Pfft.…

To understand the level of adequacy just compare this to other reviews there, about some COMPLETELY UNIQUE COMPLICATED RPGS WITH DEEP CHARACTERS.

:rage:
:timetoburn:

PS Though, comments under rewiev gave the game what it deserved.

Did you also try to cast Spell Resistance on everyone?
That and Death Ward and Bear's Endurance on those that don't have items that give Con should reduce chance of Wail of Banshee killing. Prismatic Spray is another problem, but SR helps vs all of those.

Well, how? I made the check and it was just the crack, no extra passage or whatever. Today I've read on SPUF that it was bugged in 1.0.12, so it might be inaccessible now anyway.

PS As for wizards - I have several heightened PKs in my spellbook(I'm illusion wizard), so it might not be that hard, if he does not have insane SR and 40+ will save (mind fog + some other stuff)

So I had to kill Tristian and now I have no councillor.

Cheers!!!

Same, unfortunately the devs punish you for that later :( Wish they let evil players be evil, i am disappointed.

I mean, he kind deserves to die considering what he did. Even from a LG perspective

You can get the Lamastu priestess to be your councilor instead, I never used Tristam since I had Shandra beforehand as well.

I like how they had the courtesy of rolling the die nonetheless.

I am not talking about the councilor position. But later, even if its totally unrelated, in Pitax. A shame.

heavy spoiler inside:
Apparently, according to forums, if you let Tristian destroy the ocolus, you can take the Briar from Irovetti. Instead I had Negrissa teleport in and take it. 0 sense. Just punishment

So after restarting, I decided to go solo unfair. I must admit it is extremely disappointing. I do not recommend playing solo with xp sharing off as it is actually the easy mode of this game. You out level your opponents so rapidly that everything becomes trivial by the end of act 1. For reference, my Sylvan Sorcerer got to level 16 in act 3 and I think I will probably reroll again in a party setting.
