*yawn* if you thought this was an MCA game you were an idiot from the start. If the Russians do a good job, it'll be a good game.

So it is DRM-free, after all? Damn, now I'll have to upgrade to a higher tier since almost everything in that AMA info dump sounds great and the few things that don't aren't major minuses, either.

Is anyone really expecting him to write the whole game again?
Now that he is respected and well known, he does not need to do such crazy stuff. None of the other big names do.

that looks like a batik patterned shirt. Nice

The inventory screen looks like pillars of eternity, albeit i think it is neater. Also 4 weapon set slots, i dunmo if i will ever need to use the all >_>

Also i am watchin on phone on low internet data, can someone with a HF conenction stop and look at the description of the items? Are they good or just generic level scaled equipments?
How do itemization work in general for pathfinder?

Nice. So far so good. Nice penalty with the eagle eyes too. This might really be a surprise hit who knows.

Itemization looks quite good at the first glance. It has that BG2 feeling. Hopefully Kingmaker will also have unique items with cool item descriptions, e.g. "Forged by Valgonlir Marbleblade in the Dwarven depths of Wraithforge and used by the evil dark elf Nalth Arelron to slaughter all Avariel in the now abandoned Elven city of Wyvernrock".

The inventory is clean, clearly arranged and has a paper doll. 4 weapon sets for each character also sounds great.

Worth watching in HD for the additional detail and a good view of the UI.

Another cRPG cuts flying from a D20 game.

I really think the way fellow D20 based system Legend did flying (it was basically a buff package. You ignored ground based effects, caltrops, oil slicks, earthquakes ect., and got a bonus against melee attacks from non-fliers. No 3D grid needed) could easily be done in a cRPG, particularly an overworld based one where overland movement speed is actually relevent (Making flight maneuverability have 2 tiers, one can fly indoors and the other can't, would be good to tack onto the Legend style flying status). Not too hard to implement, just tag effects with a ground tag and you don't need to touch anything else.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
Japanese developers easily managed to implement animated flying units in orthogonal isometric view on the Super Nintendo nearly a quarter-century ago, but yeah, it's just too hard to do now with today's limited technology and resources.

The Codex has always behaved exactly this way unless something immediately stands out as very, very bad. As for me, I hope it'll be good, but I've been burned one too many times to participate in the hype and fundraising at this point.

Yeah...but usually almost everything stands out as very, very bad... for the Codex. For every fundraising cRPG that the Codex deems worthy there are about 20 that were already credited as Shit™

The developers of this game have definitely done their homework, but I suspect it's a given that it's going to fall short in some way due to a lack of experience on their part (no, I'm not convinced by their work on Rage of Mages or whatever). It will probably be cool, but expect some sort of "WTF, why would they design it this way?" moment.

Can happen. It's most often those things that are never talked about in detail and everybody is thinking it's obvious how it's done.

In this case, I'd say the biggest risk is in how story and lore are handled. But they have Paizo, MCA and the backers to spot things, so the risk is somewhat mitigated.

Has there been any word on whether you can attack any NPCs at any time, or if the game only allows you to use combat actions during "combat"?

I thought their previous games were WAY more creative then shit like never winter nights franchise and pillars. Evil Islands and Silent Storm were really good. It'll be interesting to see what happens I feel like this game will for sure at least be better then tyranny. This is the first big Russian kickstarter? I doubt they want to fuck up.
