Honestly interesting thing might be spin on his end justifies the means, that he is so focused on the end justifies the means that he misses that mercy or compassion can be strenght and means too just has to be applied properly, basically having him realize that in attempt to be pragmatic he wasnt pragmatic

Argueably, the Hellknights in Kingmaker is not really representative of Hellknights at all, unless you are talking about very specific orders (Rack, mostly).
Care to elaborate? (Asking out of lore curiosity, not doubt.)

Now this is mostly just from reading AP as I am not really the kind of guy who is reading all the sourcebooks. While in general Hellkingts are putting their code (Chain and Measure) above all, they will usually try to respect authority enough unless they consider that the authority in question is inherently corrupt based on their standard. Beating the shit out of a nation populace without provocation at all is not really something they will do unless they are in Cheliax. From what I understand, even in Cheliax the torture part is just a convenient tool instead of "you know what fuck it let us beat random peasants in public until they give us information." like those in Kingmaker.... unless you are Order of the Rack and arguably Order of the Nail.

In case of Rack, imagine instead of Paladin with a particular obsession with Law for Law sake, you will have a bunch of enfoncers who are using the law to maintain their status quo, essentially. From what I understand it they are like enforcers of a totalitarian state (which they kinda are given their role in Cheliax) with the Law being convenient tools to do so.

In case of Nail, from what I understand they are western colonization on steroids. They are HK order that operates in one of Cheliax colonization territory. Their main focus is to "quell the barbarian" namely the native of the location. Not only fighting against the naive people, they also essentially act against anybody that they consider to enable barbaric culture, say like a scholar interested in the natives culture or something like that.

As Sarathiour said he is very "the end justifies the means" during the chapel attack event

He helped the recruits and preserved their lives because that was the most logical action to take. As I said before when you reach Drezen the crusaders want to charge the gates, attack a defended location without a plan. Regill then comes up with a plan that would save the lives of your men, by getting rid of their artillery on the walls and circumventing the gate itself. Your scout notes the men won't like the commander going with the Hellknights, Regill responds and gets annoyed about the discipline within the army and states would they like having fire raining upon their heads? He places little value on mercy or compassion, as was stated. But he's very goal driven. If saving someone would lead to victory? He would do it without hesitation. On the other side of the coin, if letting someone die is the most "efficient" choice he would do that as well.

He is well writen character but it honestly seems that what you see on surface is what you get, im interested how they want to make his quest fun etc.

So how do the otjer crusaders react to you being a lich summoning undead?

hello? can you just stop fapping over the npcs and discuss inclined gameplay mechanics? PRETTY PLEAZE?!
I mean, the improved AI and encounter design have been discussed already. So have many of the new classes but I suppose there's still more to say about those.
HoMM mode looks like it will give more obvious impact to Crusade Management compared to Kingdom management, even though the base-building mechanics are pretty similar. Buildings give you more troops and more unit types, and let you craft using relics (you get a lot more direct input than you did with Artisans).

Sorry these have probably already been answered earlier, but have they managed to do anything about long load times? That, AI that more aggressively kicks the player in the balls, and some way to auto-cast buffs are my big wish list from KM

edit: I have some expensive samsung ssd so I don't think that's it unless I'm supposed to put them in raid 0 or something

No way to autocast buffs yet.
Load times weren't great when I started playing the alpha with an HDD but probably better than Kingmaker? Not sure if the issue addressed by the Kingmaker Cleaner mod is still an issue in WotR. My HDD shit out on me so I finally replaced it with an SSD and load times are fine now.

Speaking of ease-of-use features, have they added Dismissable spells yet or do you still have to wait for the duration to expire?

I guess it is, because I am interested to read his dialogue which is why I don't agree that he is "boring" even though he is fairly one-dimensional. Again, I don't think Sherlock Holmes is boring to read about even if I can more or less predict his perspective on a situation, the type of thing he will say, and the type of action he will take.

That doesn't change whether or not Holmes himself is actually interesting, though. The stories would not be as interesting to read if Holmes' character was less interesting in concept and execution.

There's a reason Sherlock Holmes isn't written from his own point of view. From Watson's point of view, we don't have to deal with all the perfection that is Sherlock Holmes and his mind. We get a more interesting story from Watson because he isn't perfect and has more depth to him.

The only other path that's great mechanically is Angel. What's interesting is that on the owlcat forums and on the discord Lich is overall the most popular path.
Trickster has great abilities, making your companion roll 20s on every single roll for 3 rounds is fantastic for example.
Does it have anything related to fey magic and/or summoning or does it mostly just focus on meta rogueish things?

Trying to anticipate playthrough #81 here.

Yes that's true, Sherlock is interesting in the context of being a companion to the main character.

Edit:
Because apparently some people are having trouble with my first set of pics, this might be better:

Does her in-game portrait change reflecting the change in ther alignment (as was shown on conceptual art for the Lich)?
I don't believe that her story is complete enough yet. I haven't seen her alignment change by the end of Act 3.

What I hated about her character sheet is "thiefling"... Why they don't call her a succubus?
Probably haven't implemented the custom race yet. Her model doesn't look much like her portrait either so that's likely to change before release also.
It is still an alpha test, after all. At least she's more complete than Nenio.

It depends on your RAM I think this time around? I upgraded RAM from 16 to 24 GB and find noticeable improvement in load times. Installing in SSD also helps I guess.

What is certainly worse is save file management. On Ch3 I think my save file is around 40 MB each now and "quick saving" takes like full 15 - 30 seconds to finish.
