Remember that alley next to the cemetery where the necromancer attacks you? He pops up there after the attack on the inn. It's my first time encountering him too, I'm not sure if it was an encounter added recently.

Insert Title Here Pathfinder: Wrath
Does it have the Death Aura or just a draining attack? If you’ve got a decent tank you can get away with none or one unless it has the aura. Even there you can probably get away with Skellies and ranged.

He's not that hard to defeat. Just send your designated "tank", it'll cast it's shenanigans, and then you come in with the rest, and kick its ass. Depending on your ranged companions, usage of Cold Iron Arrows is almost mandatory.

Good luck.

It has the Death-Stealing Gaze. I was thinking about tossing Death Ward on Seelah and sending her in to tank it.

Do you get anything for killing it, or is it just a fun challenge?

Testing out Companion wep on Lann this time to see if it gives Cold Iron and/or Ghost Touch to arrows. In any case bridges gap until Hunter’s Assurance.

They put some killer loot on the other one so probably will be on this one.

They integrated a lot of the crusade management decisions in with narrative C&C in this Beta.

Rest thing is great especially with the very relevant crafting (you can choose to go for high DC/CL at higher skill check - I got up to 33 DC).

they figured out best rest system by accident during storm of awesomesauce in ch2, which is a combo of kotc and dark souls with secret stashes of supplies and unending challenges thrown your way at every corner. they just don't know it + doesnt work unless you lock party in area.

Ch3 is so big and stuff so far flung that you have to rest at least once to get anywhere and recharge stations are few and far between and well hidden.

What do recharge stations recharge?

I'm guessing he is talking about holy artefacts you find which reduces the level of corruption - some of these are hidden behind skill checks to reveal.

The Azata ability that removes fatigue from the party really helped me manage that in Chapter 3. Even if I arrived to a dungeon fatigued, it typically gave me enough time to find one of those holy areas.

Since I play as a heavy caster party. I rather deal with fatigue or even exhaustion than the spell cast failure. "but is too slow", use haste spell.

I finally had time to actually spend in the game again after I finished working this week. The Nabasu was pretty easy when I actually knew he would pop up, and he dropped an amulet that grants temporary hit points when you kill something with a natural attack. I plan on trying it out on my Monk to see if that works with unarmed attacks.

edit: Obviously would work well on an animal companion as well, along with a few other types of builds.
edit2: It does work with Monk unarmed attacks. The temp hit points equal character level and last for a minute.

My bad, I was drunk when I did that part.

To make amends, you should accept the shadow demons offer for gear in the hellknights camp, you get this:

Battle Mystery is INSANE. Definitely a reason to play the class in the first place if you’re doing anything other than Divine Nuking.

Seeker takes care of Trickery once you get the Ring which is pretty huge if you can’t stand Cam. Cam into Aru will probably be a common path but always nice to cover with the main. The three additional Caster Feats are probably the sweet spot to really get there on a dedicated caster since you want Point Blank/Precise for Rays. That leaves Focus/Greater and Spell Pen/Greater that you want by midgame.

Evocation to fire up Archon’s and Nukes (and Icy Prison!) but probably want to lead with Spell Pens since you’ve got Searing Touch which is no Save and SR completely shuts you down.

Battle is one of the best mysteries on the tabletop as well.

Generally people build Oracles in two ways, either as a knock off warpriest with better casting or as a nuker with useful healing and support spells.

There is a really really broken Oracle combo that involves using Paragon surge and mnemonic vestments which usually ends up on Tier 1 lists with broken Wizard and Arcanist builds. Paragon surge can temporarily give them access to some extremely powerful spells.

Man, I think they've got Pink Eye making these new classes:
Insinctual Barb.jpg

Barb who gets WIS to AC/Initiative and can take Ki Powers instead of Rage Powers. Also gets all three Blind Fights.

Not seen that Instinctual Warrior before in first party archetypes, I dunno whether it's one Owlcat have made or just from some very obscure sourcebook.

More :incline:

Crafted Scrolls.jpg

Scrolls crafted by Nenio

Arsinoe Romance.jpg

Found my romance, boys. Priestess of Abadar to pay all the billz.

Jammed Lock.jpg

You can re-try Trickery checks, but lock jams if you fail by more than 5 - similar to traps now.

lvl2 Core Hosilla.jpg

Still level 2 at Hosilla with default exp sharing (divides by six even with small party), no problem on Core if you use your resources as you should. Feel like they might have toned down some of the core difficulty? Elemental still not trivial tho Resist Cold potion is most of what you need. Level five/six Fighters/Brutes take some care since not Dazeable.

Waves Evo Oracle.jpg

Evocation Oracle with Waves Mystery is a nice fit, not that Spell Focus does anything with Frigid Touch.

Divine Combo.jpg

Typical combo that you use a lot.

Seelah Pal benefit Veil.jpg

Looking forward to just staying Paladin on Seelah and getting unique benefits like the Veils. Using Mounted Combat extensively this time.

KitBard early Bite.jpg

Added A Kitsune Dirge Bard Merc because I'm tired of spamming Heroism. Bite and later Pounce will eventually get there. Not so much yet. Enchantment specialist for now.

Several of these new classes are Owlcat originals. I'm a fan.
