Stat adjustments were much lower in Kingmaker from memory. I don't think there were any monster stat differences between hard and unfair either, but that just might be me remembering wrong. They did deal double damage though. The stat adjustment was like that in Kingmaker as well, no? It worked decently enough to spike difficulty early and early-mid game, but was entirely insufficient from then on.
I think it's been expanded with more body types and more ancillary shit like extra beard styles. Not that necessary IMO, Player Portraits have always been more important. Is character creation (visuals) still super restricted like in cuckmaker?
More Bonuses for Backers and Start of Pre-orders on Steam, GOG and EGS!
Only a month is left before the start of the new epic adventure on Golarion! We would like to thank everyone who supported us through Kickstarter and pre-order on our own website. And now we are excited to announce: Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is now available for pre-purchase directly on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store. Starting from today, the storefronts remain the only way to acquire the game.
We have prepared a set of exclusive items for those who will pre-purchase the game on these platforms. And since our beloved backers have already done that, we are adding these items FOR FREE to any purchase of the game made here on Kickstarter or through our official website earlier.
Here is the list of the exclusive bonus items:
- Owlcat Pet (Owlcat's Feral Instincts provide +2 morale bonus on Perception and Lore (Nature) checks.)
- Silver Tongue Amulet (This amulet grants its wearer a +2 competence bonus on Persuasion skill checks.)
- Free Dancer's Boots (These boots grant their wearer a +2 competence bonus on saving throws against movement-impairing conditions.)
- Exclusive Skins For 3 mountable Animal Companions (Dinosaur, Horse, Smilodon)
While making a pre-order, players can choose from three editions on each platform, some of them will contain even more extra bonuses. Look for the full details about the content on the official website. While surfing through the website, you can notice some more important news: yes, we are finally ready to announce the Season Pass, which will contain three DLCs! The Season Pass was not included in the editions tied to the backers’ tiers, though everyone will be able to order it separately.
The first and second DLCs will include new additional campaigns around 7 hours of gameplay each, that will make great additions to the main story. While the third DLC will be a new rogue-like mode with partial integration into the main campaign.
You can find the full descriptions here.
Each of the backers, who have supported us during the Kickstarter or Slacker-backer campaigns, will get the extra bonuses from Core edition or Commander edition for free, according to their tier level:
Check your personal account at the pre-order portal to be sure all the required info is here, so you are ready to go there upon release and grab your key. And if you can’t log into your account, or managed to log in, but don’t see your Kickstarter pledge in your orders, please send us an email to team@owlcatgames.com, we will be happy to help you!
To Arms!
DLC #1
New additional campaign. Import your character from the main campaign to the moment of their greatest triumph — their victory over the Worldwound. Answer a plea from a powerful entity and leave Golarion behind to defend the space-time continuum against imminent collapse. Use your unparalleled mythic powers to do battle with truly invincible opponents. This additional campaign offers 7–8 hours of gameplay.
DLC #2
New additional campaign. The demon attack on Kenabres changed the lives of many. While the mythic hero and their loyal companions were busy liberating the city, the common folk had to find a way to survive, relying only on their humble skills.
Band together with other survivors and try to reach the Defender's Heart tavern, the last foothold of the crusader forces in the city. Choose who will join your group, and make difficult decisions about allocating scarce resources. Remember — in fire-ravaged Kenabres, every scroll and potion could make the difference not only in an individual fight, but also to your very survival. Act in the group's best interests or focus solely on your own well-being. Import your choices to the main campaign and look forward to seeing this story develop in other DLC. This additional campaign offers 6–7 hours of gameplay.
DLC #3
A new rogue-like mode with partial integration into the main campaign. In Alushinyrra's port, climb aboard a cursed ship that will transport you to a mysterious whirlpool lost amidst the Midnight Isles. Dive in and discover a dungeon whose proportions you can only guess at. Go exploring in search of glory, loot, and battles, and come face to face with a secret that will benefit either Nocticula, the mistress of the archipelago, or her enemies. The dungeon's levels, created using random zone generation, are populated with various enemies, devious traps, and secret rooms. You will return victorious to Alushinyrra — or else the cursed ship will return on its own, laden with trophies from the last expedition, to await new adventure-seekers.
The stat adjustment was like that in Kingmaker as well, no? It worked decently enough to spike difficulty early and early-mid game, but was entirely insufficient from then on.
In the brand new Dev Diary 4, Owlcat Games talk about graphics and art style in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.
Art department shares that Pathfinder: Kingmaker was a foundation to build upon, but the new game has a much darker story than the first. The team took a step away from the cozy, cartoony style of Kingmaker towards the more reserved, desaturated colors and less exaggerated geometry.
Wrath of the Righteous also features a number of significant visual upgrades, such as new technology for handling textures, better-quality and more customizable character models, coverage of surfaces by snow and sand, dynamic lighting, a complete overhaul of the weather system, and more.

Not even close. I have a couple Unfair shots where you can see it. This one is for big boys and girls only. I’ll use it for some testing but I’m too old for a playthrough. I did a full tinman Unfait playthrough no problem in P:K.

DLC Season Pass is available for purchase on Steam but only purchaseable if you have the retail key (i.e. non-alpha/non-beta), which nobody does yet. Well played, Owlcat.
Meh, only the first DLC seems worth a buy to me.
I backed it on KS (and the alpha and beta), so I don't know; I won't buy it a second time to check. I imagine people who preordered it right now through stream could then get the DLC though... the issue is that Steam won't know KS backers 'own' it until Owlcat sends us the keys for the launch version.DLC Season Pass is available for purchase on Steam but only purchaseable if you have the retail key (i.e. non-alpha/non-beta), which nobody does yet. Can you get it if you preorder?
I'm expecting kind of a fusion of a Banners-Saga stlye attrition journey with Pathfinder mechanics. Honestly, all of the DLCs look interesting to me, although I hope the rougelite is a bit more entertaining than Kingmaker's.Meh, only the first DLC seems worth a buy to me.
The second sounds like PoR-style low magic setting.
Not really a DEV but somewhat familiar, so it seems they used a nonmodular approach in the first game as it was not hip at the time( it kinda become a thing not a while ago), so now they are doing it in module-based fashion and assemble levels inside unity, while before they made the whole location inside Maya (3d model soft), added UV's and textures there. This is regarded as a more modern and speedy approach (plus Autodesk soft tends to be bugged as shit) because Unity handles all textures and assets and shit while in 3d soft you gotta import that shit manually."We switched from doing everything in Maya to doing everything in Unity"
Any game devs here? What does this mean? If it means that loading times will be even longer and there would be more memory leaks, I'm not buying this until Definitive Enhanced Super Plus Edition comes out. It would be a bummer.
