This DLC is almost P2W
There are already several companions who can do a ton of damage. Lann/Wend don't need to Pounce at all to get Full Attacks from range. Don't get a weapon, Edge probably doesn't work, no Armor/Shield bonuses. More attacks earlier (hardest part of game) but that was already the advantage of Natural Attacks.

Interesting thing will be how Grapple works out.

Is demonslayer ranger viable as a ranged merc in unfair ?

Is brownfur mercenary really that good ?

And finally, are Shaman and Witch hex stacking a meme, or is it a viable option.

Trying to craft my merc party now that I have reached the limit of XP optimization in Act 1.

Viable - kinda? His Bane is a Move Action, so if you want to actively use it, you'd need to do a Vital Strike Archer or something. Not optimal IMO.

Yes, along with Skald, its one of the best two support classes.

Viable but... I haven't used Hexes much past mid-game. Its a lot of micro-management... you often don't need later on.

You mean Ranger's Bond? On Aru at least that can be applied pre-combat. It's still always on for himself.

I guess in some way it is like Kineticist?

IIRC I remember both Shifter and Kineticist are considered lower tier class in PF1e board. translating them both into combat focused games seems to kick up their power a lot
Not as bad as kineticist. It's a very strong straight to 20 melee class, but its not getting AoE abilities that can end whole encounters before the enemy can get in range to make a single attack like Deadly Earth does.

Kingmaker's NPC was also explicitly overpowered since you could run two separate builds at once. But you also got a tiefling harem so I'm willing to forgive some minor balance problems.

Ember feels like a (very) badly written version of Dostoevski's Idiot. The Evil ending of her questline is the same as the book's end. Maybe I'm trying to read too much on the Russian thing but seems like lazyness in copying popular litterature trope from the writer without fully understanding them. Also, Prince Mychkin from Dostoevski's Idiot was a based critic of Catholic and Liberal centralized ethos. :mca:

I read that Ember and Arueshalae writer is the same bloke that did Regongar and Octavia in Kangmaker. Apparently he is a notorious anime fan, did his college thesis on anime and is a self-proclaimed fan of MLP (so probably a furry to booth). I understand more why Arueshalae romance was so cringy and with creepy undertone (Millenia-old daemon acting like a braindead virgin teenager etc). :shredder:

What in your opinion would be the funnest class to play for an Azata run?
I play on core difficulty with turn-based option usually on.
Not looking for the most min/max OP build, just a good class that goes well with the azata path, preferably single class or at most two class combo.
quick edit: will be bringing the new character along unless hes super cringe, so wont be playing his class on my main dude.

Phantasmal Mage is awesome, Bard/Skald go well since it makes them into viable offensive casters.

Ember is a lot closer to Karamazov’s Alyosha than Myshkin. Unfortunately the writers are so Californicated they’ve imported the headless Xianity of the post-West, so there’s ultimately no there there. It is far better (and sympathetically) written than, say, Xoti though. Had me wondering if there might be a dialogue path to redeem Nocti from her Pozz brainworms.

The change they made to mind blank making you immune to true sight is too OP.
AI is too retarded for that.

You can't even play his class, oh well, the archetype. They made him speshul and unique.

I hope you are joking?!
You only have up to 6 lvl spells which means 3 less DC (4 if we count you cannot also get lvl 10 spells with Lich) and hard to metamagic many spells as a result...

What in your opinion would be the funnest class to play for an Azata run?
I played an Eldritch Scion+ Knight build and it was super fun. Super high lightning damage, clearing whole rooms with chain lightning.
sorry for my ignorance on the specifics for the pathfinder system but how is that super fun?
not disagreeing in anyway, thats a "wut" out of ignorance on my part question that makes me curious
(sidenote I like how desiderius can yap for literal pages in this thread about polemics but cant answer anything about the game in more than 3 sentences at most)

This is a buildfag game, creating a build that is powerful is 90% of the fun.

Magus itself (main class of the Eldritch Scion) is already a fun class, good mix of caster and melee. Using your melee weapon as a focus for damaging spells via melee attacks. Or just buffing yourself to everything and become a dealy physical frontiliner. You can even cast in armor but Archmage armor mythic ability is better for casters anyway. Eldritch Kngiht prestige class makes you a more martial character with nice extra swift casting abilities.

Azata helps with casting spells twice, refill you spell slots daily and give nice bonuses to all team, making already a powerful combo even better. You also get a fairy dragon which you can mount in later stages.

Edit: Our resident Magus expert is Haplo around here and he can sell the class much better than me I guess :)

I'm not really a Scion expert... hell, haven't even played any magus in Wrath.
But personally I'd not combine EK with Scion. You'd be loosing out on Arcana, Bloodline progression and weapon enchantment points.
A popular dip is 4 levels in Dragon Disciple.

Personally I prefer Sword Saints and Arcane Rider maguses :)

...but nothing wrong with Scions either. And I guess they are the best kind of magus to LARP a Sith Lord :D

Is this criticism or advertising?

Yeah it's always logical to go full magus or with just 4 levels of DD. 1 level dip in monk or oracle if you feel metagamey.
