I know these fantasy settings are made by people dreaming of a non silent god however it annoys me:

Clearly demons and hell are things that really exist. And everyone knows this. So why are people still making deals with devils and doing evil stuff when they know they'll burn in the Abyss for it?!

There was a strip, i cannot find it, that showed the evil afterlife as a paradise for promotion through might-trachery for the evils. Yuppies heaven.

Why do people take loans when they know interest and debt collectors exist? Why did Mark Zuckerberg go all in on the Metaverse when it's clearly a stupid idea? Why do millions waste money on gacha games when it's just a dopamine-exploiting casino with girl JPEGs?

But also, in D&D hell is not "punishment". If you are sufficiently evil and have the right mindset, then it's just a straight promotion for you and you get to be the devil poking idiots with the pitchfork.

I think in classical D&D if you're evil you can't really change that barring extreme circumstances. Your place in the afterlife is decided by your alignment, not your actions. It's not Christianity where you decide to accept Jesus one day and get into heaven if you die the next because your sins were forgiven. If you go to a good god's temple and worship every day, but your "internal alignment" (for lack of a better word) is still not good, you're not getting into heaven.

Modern D&D has completely spun around on this though, alignment does nothing and is basically an optional rule in the first place. Worshiping a good god is an instant ticket to their plane.

An update 2.4.1i is here!

Highlights:
  • We've fixed several bugs that prevented you from starting or completing the Visitors from Morta DLC!
  • Improved navigation in many locations of the game — say no to falling off the map and getting stuck in level geometry;
  • The interface will no longer freeze when clicking on a character's portrait!
If you are playing with mods, don’t forget to update them before loading your saves!

Beware of possible plot spoilers below!

Areas
  • Capitan Seilkind could disappear in the Mineshaft Fourteen — fixed;
  • The empty hall of the Gray Garrison on the mythic path of Legend is no longer empty;
  • Improved navigation in many locations in the game;
  • Fixed a bug where it was impossible to kill a vampire in the coffin in the Ivory Sanctum. Now you can kill it safely and get the item “Phantom Slayer's Bracers” from it. The change will take effect only for those players who have not yet visited the Ivory Sanctum;
Quests
  • The dialogue in Woljif's personal quest in the third chapter could play incorrectly if Woljif died — fixed;
  • Arsinoe claimed to have marked the location “Morbid Ridge” on the map, but did not actually do so — fixed;
  • Yaker will now not come to report to the Сommander unless Regill has been accepted as a companion;
  • The dialogue with Lucy and John in the location “Morbid Ridge” could start again after the characters go back to their world — fixed;
  • In the “Lord of Nothing” DLC, the game could incorrectly read a companion's state, confusing whether or not they survived the ritual — fixed;
  • Seelah could die in battle during her personal quest — fixed;
  • The quest “The Last Gift of a Brilliant Mind” is no longer marked as mandatory in chapter three;
  • If the party did not include Lann or Ember, the dialog with goblins in the Visitors from Morta DLC could break the quest — fixed;
Classes & Mechanics
  • Sometimes it was impossible to get the “Commander's Banner” effect after Iz and the subsequent story scene in Drezen — fixed;
  • Fixed a bug where you could get the “Commander's Banner” effect in Alushinirra and the arena from the “Dance of the Masks” DLC. The change will only apply from a new game on;
  • Paladins no longer can select Achaekek as their deity;
  • Fixed premature death of a companion after visiting the Razmir's palace (after returning to the festive square of Kenabres). Now companions will not be dragged away from the tavern and it will be possible to correctly complete the DLC story;
  • Magus Independent Ego ability did not give a bonus to AC when the character held a sword in their hand — fixed;
  • We have banned Swarm-That-Walks from hiring mercenaries even during the game expansions;
  • The trap in the Grey Garrison now only triggers on companions of the player character. No more companions will die because a non—player character accidentally stepped on the trap;
  • Changed the way Blood Boil spell works in Verdant Caves in The Lord of Nothing DLC. Now it will be properly removed after battle;
  • If you click on a forbidden deity when creating a character with the deceiver archetype, all previously selected character generation steps will “reset” and subclasses that require no deity will be blocked or turned red — fixed;
  • Fixed giving Commander's Banner buff to the whole party when moving to the 3rd chapter. Now the buff is issued correctly, according to the description;
UI
  • Irabeth's portrait did not change after a certain dialog with the player character, although it should have — fixed;
  • The interface will no longer freeze when clicking on a character's portrait;
  • Fixed the inability to move the player character on the global map when the tutorial window is active with an active gamepad;
Visual
  • Fixed the cutscene with Arushalaie in Areelu's lab;
  • One of the animations in Nenio's final personal quest was playing incorrectly — fixed;
  • The cutscene of Yozz leaving when attacking him in Drezen could freeze for a long time — fixed;
Misс
  • In Dance of Masks DLC, while standing in line before the festival, an option to hide your identity was unavailable when interacting with two men, who recognized the Commander — fixed;
  • Companion pets were so excited to meet Nenio for the first time that they were becoming uncontrollably chaotic — fixed;
  • Daeran will no longer disappear during the romance cutscenes.

Galcrap complains about two options, Aru and the banner. I use diplomacy for the former and she tells me that she literally has no complaints.

Yet, she still demotes me. What to do here?

By demoting what you mean? She takes the commander title away? Then there must be something else you did or didn't.
If it's only Aru you are supposed to be able to keep it, as Aeon.

Here are all the variables that are checked:

  • Player is Demon, Lich, or Trickster
  • Kingdom is Lost (lose state achieved in Crusade mode)
  • Use Vescavor Queen Pheromones In Drezen
  • Used the Azata option to attack the Fane early
  • Minagho Set Free By Azata (Haven't run Azata, but I'm guessing this is only possible if you attack early?)
  • Killed Regill (in first meeting? etude name includes beginning)
  • Ignored either the first or second horn call during Midnight Fane
  • Recruited Arue

I ended up being a bug. After restarting Steam and reloading the game, the option to ask the Queen to let you retain your title suddenly appeared.

Man I spent 160 hours with the gaming until the final Act, and now after I got Gold Dragon transformation, I don't want to play anymore. This game's biggest problem is the lack of enemy variety, not in the number of different enemies you fight, but thematically. It feels like you are ONLY fighting demons. In the beginning it's a bit more varied as you fight spiders, cultists, demons and dragons, but by the end of the game 95% of all encounters are against demons, and mostly against the 3-4 major demon types. What a let down.

Same problem as the Dead Three in the Forgotten Realms. Why would any expansive organization or church bother worshipping a deity whose entire portfolio is limited to murder? Even the Norse didn't worship Loki, or if they did, barely, and the overwhelming majority of Ancient Greeks actively avoided mentioning the names of their gods of death. People don't really have much interest in deities associated with madness, trickery, and death.

But the answer is that mortal cultists in Golarion think they know the system well enough that they're going to be the ones holding the pitchfork in the afterlife and followers of Dead Three in the Realms think they're the ones who are going to be holding the knife, and in fairness, simply possessing the will to murder in a world/society that works according to the logic the Realms (fantastically and incoherently) can get you pretty far up the social ladder. If you also end up serving in some of middle management role in the Hells/Abyss then the package can sound at least superficially attractive, especially to the desperate and miserable.

It doesn't help that the 'good' deities have extremely relaxed standards in their followers. Hulrun burned innocents like Ember and her father (the latter to death) with no evidence and remains a high ranking church official in good standing with both his church and Iomandae, Galfrey functionally sent her best officer on a suicide mission at least partly out of jealousy and insecurity and remains an un-fallen Paladin, etc.

Cults have a pretty firm basis for propaganda in the worlds of Golarion and the Realms.
