Not that any of this helps anyhow, since I suspect the enemy you are struggling with is Playful Darkness? Hes not intended to be tanked and is a puzzle fight akin to Kangaxx in BG 2. Hes meant to be dealt with using other measures. The fun of the fight is in figuring him out, having him explained to you kills all the fun.
Well, "struggling" is a strong word. It's not like it's that hard to just let my meleers (and attackers in general) hang back while I keep the enemy busy with skeleton summons and pummeling them with spells. It took me 3 tries to kill it.

The fight that made me complain is act4 minghou. I'm fine with optional bosses being a bit degenerate in their strategies.
I can't remember her stats in that fight at all so I might be wrong, but it should be possible to get your front liner's AC high enough to tank Minagho. If you have a save near there and you post a screenshot of her stats, maybe I can help? I seem to recall her stealthed allies being more dangerous in that fight than she was.

Put gear on the bro, then heal him with sosiel. Bumrush the archers.
The bro gets focused down by the archers and dies before Sosiel can even get off a single heal.

Side note, it is unimaginable horseshit that a cutscene can play where the bro hits Sosiel with a sword and then when the actual fight starts he's completely empty-handed.

The threshold line
I doubt anybody is gonna fail those saves by the time you are level 18 and fighting level 60 enemies or something.

Yes, I fortunately found a random screenshot somewhere that had all the Trickster skills listed. Initially I was a bit bummed my char couldn't insta intimidate everyone and negate DEX for sweet global sneak damage (low CHA, no skill). Then I realized how the
math_count.png
works and the meat of it relies on Athletics/Nature Arcana/Religion and Perception/World imho.

Still, for anyone interested, I cannot stress hard enough how the narrative aspect alone makes Trickster worth it.

edit: that and the musical theme ofc!

My main problem with wotr is that i don't feel connected to it. First chapter - we trying to survive. It's ok. Second - we have clear goal - retake Constantinople. It's ok too. And then suddenly we are doing whatever and running errands for many hours. Then for some reason we are in hell and doing whatever and running errands in hell.

"Wow, the Blightmaw is so hard, he has too many attacks and HP. How can you defeat it without cheesing?"

Meanwhile, literally the Blightmaw's saving throws after a small child enters the room and stares at him with angry eyes and a mean looking face:

He didn't even deserve a Smite Evil use.

I just realized, azata skald has unlimited revives.
companions die, you use "last stand" reviving song, they are temporarily raised then let them die and azata makes it so they dont die.
even clears deaths door if im not mistaken.

Eh, she's still dead. Magical vestment + shield of faith got regill all the way to 45 AC, which is p decent all on its own.

How the fuck are you supposed to beat the arena fight with just Sosiel and his brother?
I had Sosiel drink a cocktail of potions and buffs before the fight, but Trevor still dies within seconds and Sosiel gets worn down over time.

I refused to gear/level up that fucker so I just lowered difficulty

It is not about the challenge I just wanted to spend little time as possible on that faggot that I was gonna bench after. First playthrough I just wanted to do all quests so I had the whole roster.

Question: What is the hardest enemy / encounter in the game? I had most difficulty on chapter 5

They nerfed blackwater quite hard now you just spam electricity rods and its over :decline:
I'd nerf any hp bloats if any, but I don't understand why people lost their mind of regen+immunity to element of it. It's an obvious gimmick, which is no different from enemy being invisible while also having protection from divination.
It wasn't hard, just incredibly tedious to manually CdG every single enemy.

You get an adamantine glaive from the previous act boss, though I do wish they explained the whole fast healing thing better. Didn't BG2 at least have the decency to go "use fire/acid, retard" before the troll castle?

Did so much people made mods to remove it ("reasonable loot"). Couldn't go past any crate in castle filled with trolls without it holding flame and acid arrows.

But technically, you could meet them in other places, and only hint was during loading screens.

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign

For me it was Demon Mythic Quest in Chapter 5
Shamira tries a Coup against Nocticula. Even when siding with Shamira, Nocticula mows down everyone within a handful of turns, while her Seductive Gaze charms/stuns everybody that doesn't make a CHA based 43 Fortitude Save. No prebuffing either. Even on Story Mode only Regill managed to not get disabled and almost died to her before he could take her down.

Strap Yourselves In
I've taken to playing it on Normal now. :smug:
I switched to normal with my ill-fated wizard when I reached Lost Chapel at lvl 7. Soon after, I restarted with the cavalier.

It just feels smoother to play. Someone said they reckoned Owlcat basically balanced the game around Normal, and I think that's right. Some of the battles on Core have been awesome, it has to be said, but I think the game's a bit too rickety, too unreliable and janky to be smooth fun on the harder difficulties just yet (no doubt it will be in a year's time). Meanwhile, I can just pootle on with the the story and enjoy it as a power fantasy with occasional challenges, which seems to be what Owlcat wanted the majority of players to experience.

My PC was a Trickster and Persuasion trick affected them even though he wasn't on the map, they got rekt.

Without that no idea, there were like 20 demons.

What's disgusting about Trickster musical theme Hóngwèibīng? :(
Nothing. Love the game's OST.

I just don't see the appeal of Tricksters from a roleplaying perspective.

Some Trickster highlights:

You prank Noticula, she appears in clown dress, then you waste her
You crown a King of the Tavern, who kills demons with beer
Lager Beer elementals
You turn several enemies into potted plants
You turn a Vrock into a dragon and it fights on your side in A6
You can also turn Nurah (though everyone can do this, A2)
The rapey Asimaar in A4 can be turned into a woman and tasefully raped by the Asimaar women he raped
You turn the Worldwound into a crossroad of planes and Drezen into an interreality hub

It is very lolrandom, not recommended for a first run imo.
