Haven't tried myself, but this guy played straight Shieldbearer until ch.5 on hard/unfair (went Legend on ch.5 with Stalwart Defender and some other classes from what I could see).

Warpriest seems a class someone would enjoy more turn based than rtwp, too much micromanaging and buffs that dont last long.

but what's a decent medium/heavy armor build?

I think straight Fighter for 20 levels works. Armor Training for dex bonus and get UMD so you can have Nenio craft Mirror Image scrolls for you. Or, grab some INT, go Trickster, take all 3 UMD tricks, and you'll also have a wizard book that you can use to cast personal buffs like Seamantle and Frightful Aspect (end of ch.4 tho) and access to Mirror Image and other buffs from the Trickster spellbook until you get there.

Or, Oracle + Battle Mystery + Angel path. Enjoy plate armor, heavy shield and 24h buffs.

24h buffs means little when you cannot turn 1 round/level buffs into 24h buffs.
1 h/lvl buffs already last as long as I want them and 1 minute/level buffs with Extend spell (and Rods) also last as long as I want them. It is better to get mythic ability that turns your extend metamagic into +0 to spell level and you can get free Extend for all your spells.

I think the endgame of kingmaker is harder than WotR just because of Nyrissa minions spamming one spell (don't remember the name). It is a pain in the ass, the endboss is easier than this fuckers.

The WotR have more boss fights, but the minions are less buffed, so is OK.

But I'm still didn't play in unfair, I'm keeping to lich run.

24h buffs means little when you cannot turn 1 round/level buffs into 24h buffs.

A buff needs to last 5 mins base to get to 24h. round/level lasts 6s/level. So you'd need 5*60/6 = 50 caster level, throw in the extend metamagic feat and it goes down to CL 25 which can be reached in act4/5 with the right combination of feats/items/mythic path.

The extended buff feats are more about being able to apply buffs every other or every third rest as I see it.

I have question, can I rush to capture Drezen, then explore the rest of the map or if I capture Drezen will advance to the next chapter and lock me out from the rest of the locations.

My Angel He-MAN Mad Dog Barbarian run is going well. Damn, this class is strong. When I attack on my mount we give each other flank, pack tactics and Outflank and you got a permanent +6 to all attacks lol. I just go into rage, I got power attack and mythic power attack on and I do 40+ damage per attack without criticals. Mount does another 15 damage per attack.

BTW, is there a way to save Staunton or his brother? I feel like I could have done something...

You can get Transformation CL to 25 on any mythic path. Though probably not worth it unless you're a brown fur transmuter.

You can, locations will remain available. You will, however, have to complete any quest marked in the journal as mandatory to be done in that chapter and, if you're trying for the Sadistic Game Design achievement, will have to kill all optional bosses before the end of the chapter. Other than that, I do not believe there is anything else mandatory to be done in ch.2

Afaik the mandatory things in ch2 are the ones marked like that in your journal, and unlocking mythic paths (if you did act1 properly, the only mythic path left to unlock is lich).

No, the skill list in the CRPG isn't as complete as in tabletop so all the classes have lower skill points IIRC.

The game is absolutely awful, and any of your abilities (including the will to live) will be drained on multiple occasions.

Damn it, they patched out Kaylessa's loot. If you kill her in Chapter 2 (Chapter 1 as well I assume), she no longer drops a composite longbow +3 but gives "wooden scrap" instead. The +2 leather armor is still there though.

I wasn't even trying to murderhobo, I just conveniently failed a perception check and did the reasonable thing!
Reloaded and checked again, I was wrong. The bow is there if you kill her with the option after the perception check, regardless of whether the check fails or not, but if you back out and kill her with the "Evil" option the bow breaks. I looked closer and the text actually says she tries to block your blow with the blow and it breaks (even when it doesn't), so this has been a bug all along I guess?

I'd say "definitely yes", but I am comparing rtwp only km against this. No idea how they'd fare with both in tb mode. But I will say that the mythic paths add a lot, as does having a single storyline running through all acts.

Throwing axes are ranged weapon and are automatically using Dex for attack but Str for damage. I don't think you can turn damage into Dex as well, it needs to be a melee weapon for that.
