There's a lot of dumb shits who are confused about this apparent paradox. Being the biggest intellectual on this message board, I shall attempt to enlighten the unwashed masses as to why this is so:

Sex, unlike violence, is a normal (and in our culture, heavily encouraged) urge. Bashing people's face in and chopping their heads off is not. So whereas oversexualization of media could lead to dumbfucks engaging in more sex than they should (usually, none at all). it's highly unlikely to lead to dumbfucks bashing each other's heads in with a hammer. In other words, you'd have to be a fucking psycho to to out and kill people because it's enjoyable in videogames whereas you just have to be a dumbfuck to want to have sex because sexual predator sheppard banged a blue alien in mass effect. And God knows there's plenty of dumbfucks out there. Also, killing stuff in video games is likely to help you relax and get your "violence fix". Watching someone else have sex will have the opposite effect.

I'd agree with you if there actually was oversexualization in games, the reality is quite the opposite. Fade to black love scenes and tit cards? Nobody who's actually old enough to play these games is going to be aroused by polygonal cleavage or bump-mapped buttocks, ME's scandalous ass or the witcher's cards have nothing on regular tv like baywatch or the wrestling girls.

It's ridiculous to compare the display of violence in games with that of sex, one is surreal while the other is non-existent, the violence you see in games is as explicit as it gets, on par with any adult-only gore movie which most adults couldn't even stomach. If sex in games was to be on the same level as violence it would involve some highly detailed 3D rendition of multiheaded dicks hitting japanese trannies, but it's not, instead we get at most nipples and ass crack and that immediately gets an adult/mature rating while teen movies are T&A fests.

Hey, if it were up to me teen movies would be rated higher. Fear of the AO rating making them anathema to some major retailers is probably what keeps most games from having more explicit sexual content, which is why the complaints against giving out such ratings pisses me off.

I enjoyed the GT series when i was younger but got bored of racing games...
