Incorrect. It's 371 people in the past 30 days, but it was also over 90% 30 days ago. That's two months where over 90% of reviews are positive.

But why do isometric crpgs have such a low completion rate though, compared to other genres ?
Could it be that *gasp*... they're games of lesser quality, unworthy of being played through all the way ?

Bottom line is : stats don't indicate shit on their own. You need to emphasize on the context in order to shit out a proper analysis of said stats, to then be able to assess the perceived quality of the game. In short : you need a review.
Good news for ya, Roxor wrote a review for deadfire. If you disagree with it : write your own. On a personal level, I think his review is on point and can be considered a solid representation of the quality of the game, ie. "it's alright".

I have no doubt that you already did write your own review, as you're a maniac, so you either put this review up to date with the fresh added content properly analysed - and the newly found quality of the game clearly presented - or observe silence.

No more "game has x% positive feedback according to its hundreds of hardcore fans" that don't say shit on a daily basis.
Same goes for rusty fucktard over there, and his formidable argument of "game 2 sold mawr hurrrrr".

Fuckwits.

Like I said, a lack of a positive indicator is not proof of negative quality.

I will say as a crpg fan, that many are too bloated and become a chore to finish.

And what you refer to as "positive indicator" isn't proof of "positive quality", whatever the fuck that means. They're just a proof that there's x% people who perceive a game as closer to good than bad. And - again - it doesn't mean shit.

According to your vision, stats can only display two statuses : [Good] or [Maybe, I dunno lol, I mean there are a ton of parameters to take into consideration here y'all].
And here you are, pulling out "positive indicators" while blatantly ignoring "negative irrelevant indicators".

Fuck off dude.

So according to you, overwhelmingly good reviews are not an indicator that a game might be good? I disagree.

I've never played a game with a 90% average review score that wasn't good for what it is.

The two-lines pieces published by steam users such as
"Still at the top despite a decade past !!!!"
don't qualify as reviews, no.

Steam asks you to write anything, and click YAY or NAY.
It's a mood thermometer. A moodometer. It's literally pointless.

EDIT : actually it's good to immediatly know if a game is broken, empty or lying upon a scandalous economic system.
Games over 80% satisfaction are legions, who cares. By all means, deadfire score only tells us that people didn't feel scammed. Whoop dee doo, doesn't mean shit about its quality.

Why did you feel the need to add "for what it is". If it's good, it's good. and if 90% means it's good, then it's good. Not just good for what it is.

Even you don't believe your own crap.

ps : quit changing your posts, own your opinions for fuck's sake.

Edit : I already gave you an example. Skyrim has 94% positive reviews in the last months. It's a game which relies on mashing your mouse button and potion key while frantically killing skelingtons and dragons. A game where it takes 15 hours to kill a dragon, encounter a daedra and already have experienced the best that the game has to offer. It's utter shit, but then again, it'd require a proper review to explain. I suggest you take a look at Oblivion's review, as many of its blatant & terrible flaws are also in its sequel.

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
Arcane Knight (paladin/wizard) with Blood Mage is a nice combo. I switch between blood sacrifice for additional spells and lay of hands to heal back up. With Xoti or another healer, you can generate more spells and power level. Blood sacrifice more than makes up for the loss of empowerment, and personally I find it more interesting. At least there is a downside, however small, to using it unlike empowerment.

Has anyone played Warlock (barbarian/wizard) before? I am curious if you load up on wizard buffs and hit berserk/rage/whatever it is callled.

Reminder that pathfinder kingmaker has 3x as many recent reviews as deadfire despite never going on sale
Something rubs me the wrong way about people reviewing a game before they get to the end.

Over 80% of indies and AA games by new developers have less successful sequels.

Kingmaker's sequel will have even lower player retention than Deadfire, because it's buggier, less polished, and has lower review scores from both critics and players (which also means less free coverage by gaming media).
Kingmaker already has lower player retention than Deadfire

Kingmaker is less accessible, it's pretty much as easy as that. It takes actual knowledge of the ruleset, learning the mechanics and trial and error to succeed and learn. I'm sure PoE2 is much more accessible, with the "you cannot fail balance" in place, no real knowledge needed to play as any build can clean house, and it's likely just more accessible in every way. In my opinion that pretty much covers the differences, whether lack of awards or player retention, PoE is Easy Street compared to Kingmaker's Hard Road.

I haven't played it, but its supposed to be good. Might boost, action speed boost, Pen boost, crit boost (if berserker). You can even stagger enemies with spells in aoe with Spirit Frenzy. Supposedly really shines with with Blood Thirst, which nulls spell recovery on kill. That's PL VII though...

Personally I'd prefer either a Sage (Monk/Wizard), preferably Helwalker monk to supercharge the might, int (aoe sizes and effect durations!), boost speed and PEN plus more interesting active abilities or maybe a SpellBlade Assasin, who alpha strikes with +25 Accuracy Fireballs from stealth, with +50% crit damage.

People will remember and bring up Pathfinder: Kingmaker in the future when talking about great RPGs. No one will do so regarding PoE. That is the difference at play here, and it has little to do with player whatever.

Do you think Woedica's challenge would be an enjoyable experience? Would not spamming same spells 16 times per combat make the game feel more sparse with its active abilities thus less spammy?

It just makes you rest after every single battle. Maybe used in conjunction with the Eothas challenge, it would actually change something.
I have a feeling that Seethe is right about just making you rest after each battle. I want to make a mod which makes everything per-rest but also rebalances the number of casts per rest.

You diss Skyrim, but you probably played over 100 hours when it came out like everyone else.

Just like how many of the people trashing Deadfire in this thread are already on their second or third playthrough.
I've played, as in actually played, probably 20-30 hours of Skyrim when I was most interested in it. Never progressed the story farther than the meeting the Stormcloaks quest. I kept getting distracted by side stuff and just exploring the land, until I got more interested in some other game and dropped Skyrim. I have over 50 hours of tinkering with various mods though, mostly textures and stuff like survival (Frostfall). I soon learned they don't make the gameplay more interesting and quickly get tedious.

And of course, I've never given money to Bethesda, except when I bought New Vegas + the old Fallouts/Tactics.

Show me a game with a 92% or greater review score that isn't good for what it is.
why look at recent scores? its 1/10th the number of total reviews.
if we are going to manipulate numbers like that you can also remove recent reviews score and get a score of ~80
