Mob pulling is only possible by exception here and there as it is.

I'd think Skaen adds more "atmosphere" than anything else. Yeah, I guess it prevents mob pulling, but, like AwesomeButton said, you can rarely do it anyway.

Digsite fight. Explosive boars, vampiric panthers and... some invisible drake. Killed boars, cats and wurms, Eder and Xoti down. Drake decided to not fight. He's here - i'm still in combat and hear his wings flapping, but can't find him. Can't leave area, can't repair equip...

Actually hardest fight on starting island was not drake and his friends. Hardest fight was inside ruins. Hardened crystal spiders and lots of brine imps. 10 AR monsters against party with mundane weapons. Lost all my sabers to them. I'm glad i bought all spares back in village - in case of ordinary equip it's just cheaper to buy new than repair.

PoE's premise is faulty. You have superpowers (read, class abilities) because you have a special soul. Guess what. Every Joe Shmoe has them too. Why? balance.

What's wrong with that?

Every schumck in IE games also has a class, even monsters.

So, since I started Deadfire again, I had 3 CTDs and found more than 2 serious bugs.

Cmon, Obsidian, this game is around for a while now. Get your shit together.

Ironically, one of the few fights where you can mob pull. Pull the spiders 1 at a time. Otherwise, yeah, the imps do too much damage if you are not with optimized adventurers.

At least now i have my ship back. Time to sail to Neketaka and make some money. Nothing personnel, Arkemyr.

For degenerate mob pulling try stealth and traps. Mobs near enough "notice" it and slowly walk to the trap, stand around and return. Trick is to set a new trap before the mobs return to lure them further away. The first one gets automaticaly disarmed and returned to inventory cause you can only have one active. This way you can usualy split them far apart enough. Maybe works with firecrackers, too, like luring guards away for stealing, but that'd be more expensive I think, hehe.

I wonder if they will ask to shell out sheckels for turn based mode...

It's funny that for all the shit Deadfire gets, we already have a dozen codexers on their third or fourth playthrough.
It's not bad game. Just not as good as Atelier Rorona.
Also Atelier Totori has better ship exploration than Deadfire and Atelier Meruru has better kingdom management than Pathfinder.

Also Oswald had it coming, treason was punishable by death in almost all countries as late as 20th century. Some of the generals of Napoleon have been tried for treason and executed. "It was 150 years ago" isn't an excuse, no more than "It was yesterday".

Best treason story of the 16th century: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_III,_Duke_of_Bourbon

Why doesn't anyone make games about these stories. I wish there were more designers like Vavra out there.

I am so disappoint with "cruel" options in this game, they tether between "schoolyard bully" and "absolute retard with no sense of self-preservation". There are few cruel options that area good, but way too little.

It's probably a symptom of having a reputation system. I'd say they even made them more obvious and corny on purpose, so players don't misjudge the meaning. By the way how come the dispositions aren't at all linked to eachother. At the end of the game I have almost all of them filled. You'd think that at least the opposing ones would be on just one meter.

Deadfire's dispositions do unlock particular answers and reactions, yes.

I don't mind the disposition system in itself, although a metre isn't necessary there should have been ways to reduce them too. I just more dislike the cruel disposition seems to have been envisioned as just an asshole, with only occasional actual cruelty.

Oh well, I'll listen to this song to complete my steel garrote playthrough:

Why were they even put in the game? I liked AoD's Word of Honor mechanic, which actually meant something (both getting it and how it impacted the playthrough).

WoH is extremely narrow though, outside of locking a quest in Teron and helping you with a speech checks it's not really prominent.

Still better than dumpsterfire.
