Codex Year of the Donut
I got promised exploring uncharted islands, ended up getting a bunch of empty shit that I named "rocks", "more rocks", "also rocks"
I got promised ship combat, ended up getting a crappy text minigame
etc.,
entire game was a disappointment

I'd say it actively detracts from the setting because it's so obviously artificial and constructed with no real understanding of how human beings work and talk.

It's been a staple in American comics for decades and no one cares. :M

>American

There's your problem right there, isn't it.
The writer with the biggest reputation for doing it (Chris Claremont) is a British Jew (through his Israeli mother) who was raised in the US starting at the age of three. :M

How do you deal with all the spawns on this fight at this level? Only Charm? Also, Aimed Shot seems too good compared to other modals. Sabres have +2 PEN at the cost of 100% speed. Do Deadeye and Potion of Impediment stack?
SpawnS? There are blights and beetles to the right of him but they dont trigger and dont see my rogue attacking from the left, so they dont belong. The Titan shits out blights and a beetle at half HP but the blights are not actually a problem, the beetle is. And they actually help since you have to be moving left slowly and the Titan does not push the blights out the way. If you charm him though, which is easy, he goes all dual-wield slap slam aoe. Blights are gone in less than 10sec.
If I had an arbalest modal on Maia that fight would have been probably fairly easy.
Drugs and Potions stack, at least I fucking hope so if the UI is showing the effect...

Quality of modal probably depends on item/party/char though, maybe even encounter. From what I considered or used up to lvl5 in order of cuteness:
Arquebus - +15 acc - cute for cipher and rogue, 1st reload is free from stealth, can be canceled and switched to other weapon with no downsides
Arbalest - ~1.5-2 sec interrupt on grazes even, lotsa lulz, 2 shooters like a rogue and ranger lock down anything
Axe - yuge dmg bonus (triple it) especially on crits, but over time, helpful vs single targets/bosses, bleed stacks as well, obscene
Mace - drop AR by 1 for 10s, too short if you are only using Eder and he might be just trying to stay alive, but one of the few early vsAR sources (as is Flanked), but you have to ask yourself why you are not pen'ing instead of using modals.

Crossbow - like arbalest but faster and less effective, also not as funny, so out of the question
Warbow - extra pen - mostly for slash dmg but fine warbows were just barely enough to fight pierce immune risen skellingtons, pen can be got with economy...
Staff - +20 defl, without slowing down casting or incurring -Acc from a shield, might be useful for a melee wizard if the staff is great, I doubt it beats the medium shield modal
Hunting bow - something, but the weapon is low pen, too situational, I mean fucking bats in the starter cave have 7 AR on Potd like the hunting bow
Saber - +2pen, i didnt even know, no good sabers around, most of them are just extra dmg and Eder needs life and not dmg
Pistol - +reload -acc, dropping acc is unacceptable for the gimped me, sources of acc (aside from flanked) are rare as shit
Dagger - 10 defl, not for fighters... and my rogue is not meleeing with a dagger...
Stiletto - extra pen for pierce dmg, trash, why are you meleeing with pierce?

And on it goes... there are things to chose especially for custom chars.

Just googled Blunderbuss modal and see a Reddit thread, roffles, about builds.
Some retard: my build is OP hurr durr, shows screenshot where he is level fucking 17! Fighting Nagas at Hasongo where I was at level 3 (granted, couldnt do the ambush or the final fight, 3 shamans are way too much )... and the Nagas are 8/9.

By the way, levelscaling upwards does not help the enemy much. If you play the game and want levelscaling/challenge, gimp yourself instead.
If I arrive at Hasongo at level 8 or 9 and they dont scale because they are the same level, they will get obliterated...

T2H2aih.png

they prolly mean for the skaen sacrifice!
the reward though, wow, how pathetic, a single use doll........................................................................................ that got obliterated on the island next to it
at least id sacrifice palegrina for free

This is actually at least 3 steps above Deadfire! No lie.
Eder is oh so concerned with veganism and WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALES but raiding ships and murdering crew in fucking cold blood and not a quip!
e3bFrLZ.png

Deadfire writers have done it. I hate all the companions after Maia's quest started. Turns out she is some kind of psychopathic serial killer...

Xoti - childlike, accent is just too much
Eder - mild retardation, shit quest
Aloth - whiny little faggot, playing wizards in POE2 is horrible, fuck Soyer
Serafen - have sex, surrserrerr, daddie issues, "my fav number is 40"
Tehecu - reddit sexy times, homosexual
Maia - psychopath, annoying fucking bird

Quality fucking cast! I'd rather have 5 Minscs and Boos

Quite a bit of wrong info here.

Fires like a machine-gun with the modal, there are ways to get more PEN, you know.. and not all enemies have high AR.

Saber - +2pen, i didnt even know, no good sabers around, most of them are just extra dmg and Eder needs life and not dmg
The modal sucks, its bad to sacrifice so much speed, but... "No good sabers around"?! Did you actually play the game? Blindfolded maybe?
That's like probably the weapon category with the best uniques. Grave Calling? Scordeo's Edge? Do those ring a bell?

Pistol - +reload -acc, dropping acc is unacceptable for the gimped me, sources of acc (aside from flanked) are rare as shit
Well, good thing that One Handed Style adds Accuracy.... and 20% Crit conversion. Get a nice single pistol, enable modal. Net result: You attack as fast as dual-wielding, have almost the same Accuracy, but deal almost 20% more crits.

Doubt. Perspective. You can prolly make all modals usable with a custom bulid and beeline for a known item...

Say, hunting bows, I am shooting Risen stuff with -25 due to Pen with Fine Warbows, thats what available to me right now. If I switch to "machine gun" hunting bows, I am shooting with -75 dmg at Risen stuff and might as well give up.
And there are tons and tons of enemies with high AR. I am not willing to rest and chug potions everytime to get PEN - now its a question of my confort. And I would bet that more than half of encounters have half the enemies that are untouchable with hbows.

Saber: I am playing the game, if its not obvious. I havent been trough the game yet. Wasnt to Cockspurs and Aedyls whatever quest saber is not mine either. I have 4 uniques, all of them add dmg in some form or the other. Best of them also adds 1 Pen. I dont need Pen or Dmg on Eder. I need him to live, as said before.

Pistols: I very much doubt your math, breh. This modal has an obvious tradeoff and is only worth taking at a certain chance to hit, that is fairly high.

I think we can all agree that Penetration is not a good mechanic and shouldn't be used again. Sabre modal is garbage, but I did use it to defeat the drake in the ruins with only the PC, Eder and Xoti.

Pistol's modal is indeed so decent that I wonder why nerhammer never reached it.

20% Crit conversion is bit less good though because all firearms got a Blunted Criticals: -15% Crit damage. But I guess it still gives extra pen for scoring a crit. Pity that for generic firearms only damage type matches the most common immunity.

You can remove all PEN problems with an allied Cipher, makes a lot of modals have very little downside.

Sabers are pretty much the best weapon class solely due to Scordeo's Edge, thing is utterly busted.

...I love me my Grave Calling which summons party friendly Chillfogs that paralyze enemies...
Only need to kill a Chanter's skelly to trigger one.

They are so nice they even give focus to my Cipher on each aoe tick.

Having a Helwalker's Intellect increase both the aoe size and paralysis duration.

Course, you could wield that with a Confused 'zerker and create Chillfogs that damage your party... including multiple Chanter skellies, which would quickly escalate into multiple paralyzing Chillfogs layered one upon another...

Chanter has t8 invocation for a AoE +3 PEN. I think high int Troubadour can achieve 100% uptime on this one.
Before it t1 upgraded to t3 for -enemy armor helps a lot, but this one could miss.

Acshually, it might be the best part about POE2 mechanics...
You realize this when you realize that 17 AR Eder can be killed by crits which increase PEN.
The interaction between Acc/Defl and AR and other DR is good shit.

You armor up Eder, they plink at you and then wham! Crit, crit! Dead. Thanks to hit-to-crit conversion, they dont even need very high Acc (which they have anyway).
