Apparently playing Pillars either requires a priest or equipment/consumables that replicate priest abilities.

Depends on the party. Druids and support-built paladins can fill the gap rather nicely. If you have neither, then yeah equipment/consumables are the way to go.

He said he was underleveled and didn't have the equipment he thought he had.

It was my druid doing the majority of supporting in PoTD. A priest isn't required at all.

i messed up when i re-spec'd pallegina. she didn't have liberating exhortation and somehow i sold all of my rings of unshackling so i had nothing to counter the paralysis effects on the bridge lmao

Josh wanted to see how the other half (Chris Avellone) live.

I look forward to holding on to that for 1 whole playthrough, always wondering if there's some new, amazing item up ahead that I simply MUST duplicate.

Is there any backer content in White March I? And did someone make a mod that removes the backer NPCs etc. from the main game?

The IE mod had an option to replace backer NPC names with lore-appropriate ones. I haven't heard of a mod that outright removes them. It would make the world rather empty...

That would also work, I'll take a look.

Might want to hold off a bit. The 3.00 update will break it.

3.0 update says Streamlined Combat. Not words I like to hear. Anyone have details on that?

They've revamped the combat UI. Details here. It's not the kind of streamlining you're thinking of.

(Mechanically in fact they've added some twists, e.g. a keyword system for attacks. "Ground-based" for example won't affect flying creatures.)

Cool thanks Prime! Man they are still balancing the crap out of stuff. So have they announced 3.0 as final version? I probably play it after part 2 comes out unless more patches are coming

They haven't. I expect there will be some minor patches to WM2. I would be very surprised if there's another major rebalancing/mechanics update like 2.00 or 3.00 though, since there's no money in it. I'd expect they'd rather put the team to work on Pillars 2 instead.

Then again, maybe they'll re-release in the Pillars 2 engine whenever that rolls around.

So I guess it's safest to assume that it'll never be finished. Hold for the Platinum Complete DC GOTY edition, ca 2025.

I'd say it's highly unlikely they'll be porting the game to a new dev platform. Too much work.

Unity 5 is the best we're going to do.

Many people point out the loading times. Never been a problem for me, but I have a pretty strong machine, so I'm not a typical case.

Biggest individual issue is the loading times. They've been struggling with them all along, and on some machines they apparently are really long. And even if they work as they should it is annoying have a loading screen every time you enter or exit a building for example.

Unity does support terrain streaming though so you can't blame it for that. I'd assume they didn't do it just because they were unfamiliar with the engine and didn't want to take risks.

Untity *specifically* has a problem with loading times?
