i can't wait for the echo chamber that will be this expansion's thread once it gets released and only the rabid fanbois play it because no one sane would touch this game again
I will touch the expansions after a decent Steam sale :D

Judging by the fact that those 'sane' people continue to be responsible for the majority of activity in the PoE threads, I very much doubt that.

I managed to build a fairly effective accuracy based Cipher in my original campaign playthrough without having any direct/obvious ways of increasing his accuracy (e.g. he could repeatedly hit the Sky Dragon, while others would struggle to graze it). I'm guessing my job will be much easier, when I have an attribute directly responsible for that. Unless, of course, all the other tools I used to increase accuracy will be taken away from me... in the name of balance.

What's the "ruination"?
Destruction weapons only have a chance to insta-kill enemies who are a lower level than you, if they're at your level or higher it just does a lot of raw damage.

I imagine the damage scales with level (or else it'd be worthless after a certain point, considering the ever-increasing health pools). :)

Not necessarily, it could work like your typical Cloudkill-type D&D spell, and PoE's spells don't have scaling damage - just accuracy.

I'm really digging this new background music. It is quite Icewind Dale-ish, which fits the theme of the new enviroment.

Strap Yourselves In Pathfinder: Wrath
I have not kept up with the game updates or threads. Is there a compiled list of class changes and new spells?

He calls Durgan's Battery the largest dungeon that isn't the megadungeon yet Josh said there wasn't going to be anything like that. :M

One thing i'm not getting: That Null bloke keeps saying frozen north, but with Dyrwood being in the southern hemisphere wouldn't the north be nearer the equator and warmer than points south. I thought Durgan's Battery was elevated in the mountains accounting for its temp, not in a cold part of the land?

Thinking about it why are brown skinned Valians south of Dyrwood, when their land should be colder than the whiteys? Is their a gulf stream hitting the Republics or something?

The Vailians are colonists too, they're not originally from there.

You're right about the hemisphere, though.

Doubt it. Going by Obisidian history expansions are always leaps and bounds better than their vanilla games.
Though using Cad Nua as startpoint is fucking joke considering it is part of the game most of people shit on.

I thought they said it doesn't actually unlock until you enter Defiance Bay, but the reason you're sought is because you own Caed Nua. :M

If they add in more stuff to make the stronghold actually fucking matter (the Endless Paths were excellent, but Caed Nua itself was rubbish), that would be great.

I sparred with Josh over this on the SA forums. Me and several of the users there basically said that the stronghold needs to matter a bit more. He basically quasi asked if that should come at the expense of other content and a large vocal plurality basically said, yes, cut other stuff and make the stronghold matter more. I then whipped out a quote from an IGN article by Feargus about how xpacs will likely expand on the stronghold. He said nothing further on the subject. I hope he took some of that in. Even on SA, folks feel the stronghold is a bit half assed.

Yes, the stronghold is half-assed, but honestly that was the best thing they could do with it. Name one RPG that actually well done player housing. One that actually adds something to the game beyond playing house. It, and crafting, were stupid KS promises that should have never been in the game. The way they build the item system, with obviously crafting in mind, is probably the main reason the items are so boring in PoE. Last thing they need to do is make the stronghold important too.

Agreed. I like new content, but I rather they improve old crappy content instead of adding new content. The stronghold is really bad compared to other features in the game.

the Endless Paths were excellent
yeah i also really enjoyed these 15 levels of copy pasterino
truly amazing experience
the dragon fight was rly bad because i couldnt just spam random shit and win (instead i had to turn him to stone and win man that was hard)
but thankfully the loot was definately worth it because it increased my dps by 2%
