Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
I always thought they were cheaper in the third world.
And Black, as I indicated, it is all about preferences- but if you think the PS3 is a bad console then I doubt you would profit from a PC port (one with no keyboard rebinds, mind you) of this game.

Oh, I probably won't profit from its console port, seeing as it uses Games for Windows Live and they possibly can't even be arsed enough to allow binding changes.

Weirdly, I suspect not everyone interested in this game has or wants a console.
Yes, that is pretty weird.
I was interested in it (despite not owning any consoles :obviously:) because from what people have been saying, it's an anti-console game, supposedly hard, requiring patience and unforgiving.
Now I'm less than interested and only curious if they'll change their wicked ways (probably too late for that, but that's what they get for being all secret-y about this stuff instead of doing some actual research) and if they'll blame piracy on possible low sales.
It would be hilarious
ARGLEBARGLE PC players wanted it so hard, so many signed the petition and now they went and pirated it ARGLEBARGLE even though we went through all the trouble and made it basically 1:1 console port with some extra content ARGLEBARGLE.

And the funny thing is, nobody wins, everyone loses.
PCfags get a shitty port of supposedly good game.
Consolefags are left without the extra content unless it comes in form of DLC that you'll obviously have to pay for.
Namco/From Software sell way less than they could, because of their retarded port/design choices.

Dark Souls PC Officially Announced

OK, the game just became actually relevant. Time to see what all the fuss is about. Can't wait. I hope it's as good as people say!

best recent news after (or I would even say on par with) Kickstarter
Surely you are hyping this horse like a modern game journalist who's about to review TES6, right? If not, there are two possibilites: 1) This game is the fucking second coming of Jesus himself or 2) My niggling fear that at the core this is nothing but a bad action RPG is true.

OK, hyperbole, but you get it. I sincerely hope (I mean it!) that it's a good game.

Not my genre, but I'm very curious anyway.

My thoughts exactly, though I think I'm more curious than you seem to be.

I understand your excitement Bee but surely this is an exaggeration. As good an action-RPG as Dark Souls may be, it's certainly not on par even with the idea of an old-school Wasteland 2.

Bingo.

I dunno, to me FS games are some of the all-time best dungeon crawlers. Different subgenre, sure, but they're definitely on par with such cRPG classics as Wasteland to me.

If you seriously think extremely simplistic games like Dungeon Master or Eye of the Beholder are as important as Wasteland I guess the two of us disagree more on the subject of RPGs than I thought.

No rebinding of keys, are you freaking serious

a serious fucking 'wat' moment right there, eh?

Why can't people play it on the PS3, as they should?

I don't fancy buying a second copy of expensive hardware much worse than my PC so I can play a single game that would have no problem playing exactly the same with a controller on my PC.

I don't care if I can get a used one cheap - I'm still buying ANOTHER set of hardware for no reason at all - and it's bad hardware that costs more than the same hardware would on my PC.

Honestly I'd rather spend another 550€ on a brand new graphics card than buy any (or both) consoles, I don't want a shitty closed-off platform deciding how I'm supposed to play and making me pay for online and licensing + other fees going directly to Microsoft/SONY.

Besides, Microsoft brought us the disease of DLC: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downloadable_content#On_consoles
They also forced developers to "create value" that way: http://www.shacknews.com/article/60365/microsoft-forces-valve-to-price http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=147804
And they're shitting on the indies/smaller studios over and over again: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/07/xblig-feature.ars http://kotaku.com/359668/microsoft-cuts-indie-royalties-in-half http://nightmaremode.net/2011/10/st...est-platform-to-develop-indie-games-on-12073/

They charge $40.000 for Patches/Updates: http://thenextweb.com/microsoft/201...ch-explains-why-updates-are-slow-to-roll-out/ and force platform Exclusivity: http://nexus404.com/Blog/2011/08/24...-on-psn-first-games-that-get-more-content-on/

Fuck them and their Kinect-y crap...

Grats all nonconsoletards! Read the Dark Souls thread in general gaming to see why you should care. This game is really good.

Great game! If you don't like action combat, you won't like it though. If you like Action Combat (really good action combat), awesome boss battles, with a layer of stats, gear, and upgrades on the side, then you will love this game.

This deserves RPGCodex front page. It's that good.

Bonfires are scattered throughout the world; these represent the sole areas of rest and peace and function as checkpoints. Resting at a bonfire causes all non-boss enemies to respawn, but also refills the player's supply of health flasks, spells, miracles, and pyromancies.

Sounds like a shit game.
http://:hero:

Think about it: console gamers (also known as braindead mouthbreathers) think it's a good game. That should be enough information to declare this game as pure diarrhea.
