Imga voices to pair with the Imga faces.

There were a few time I was questioning if it were actually a clever edit of vanilla voices (like the Reachmen voices in Home of the Nords) before unique things made me sure they were entirely original. I think that's the highest mark of quality I can give.

tf did i just watch? Is this a netflix adaptation of Morrowind?

- is perfomance better or worse when using openMW with Tamriel Rebuilt?
It depends. For some, yes, for others, no. Vanilla is at the point where there are enough mods that improve performance where I've found the decision ends up being one based on features and not fps.

- I hate light flickers in the original game. how can I get rid of them with openMW. I can't find info on this
TLAD has a plugin that should work with OpenMW. No guarantees as I haven't tested it myself.
thanks, I'll give it a go. what about ambient light values? no one made a mod to modify them for vanilla & modded cells & openMW?

As a reminder, here's the landmass that will be released:

For anyone interested who doesn't already have a stable install of Morrowind at the ready, I suggest you spend some time before release getting yours in order. OpenMW, MWSE-Lua, whatever. There's a few modding lists here at the codex and elsewhere and I can provide direction/advice if needed.

And unlike the original game, the water cells actually have content. With them included and the original game's water cells excluded it approaches the size of Vvardenfell, with them excluded from both its still over half the original game's size. The minor town of Brina Cross is supposed to be at least as big as Oblivion's Anvil.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Water now has dreugh citadels as underwater dungeons, the Morrowind mainland already has one of those, extremely confusing to navigate tbh and you better know a water breathing spell or you will die.

Lots of little islands here too that should have stuff to discover. If the quality of recent Tamriel Rebuilt releases is anything to go by, this will be the best RPG content of the year.

After many years of work, Abecean Shores has now been released. The island from the original release, Stirk, has been overhauled, and the city of Anvil and its surroundings accompany those changes.
You'll be able to get to Anvil via Titus Corilex located at the Old Ebonheart docks, or from the Karthwasten docks in Skyrim. Alternatively, "coc Anvil" in the console.

Before playing, install or update Tamriel Data and then get the release from here.

Surprise updates for Tamriel Rebuilt and Skyrim Home of the Nords are on their way as well. Skyrim's is more of a maintenance update, and TR is releasing their Firemoth revamp, complete with 50+ quests throughout existing content plus some other goodies.

It's the same reason "coc mournhold" takes you to an empty room in vanilla. The cell "Anvil" exists for technical reasons (so all the "Anvil, docks" and whatnot can be put under it), but there's otherwise no cell named just "anvil".

How do you guys start out usually? Since they always recommend a fresh save do you just haul towards the new zone or just cheat teleport.

I'm gonna start a new playthrough but it feels kinda silly to go there level 1

There's plenty of content for level 1 in each PT release and most TR releases (the underbaked 2013 release being the exception). Taking an experienced character there is just skipping new content to replay old stuff.

Also there's already an alt start mod for new PT release.

There's also new quests in Vivec, Firewatch, and (upcoming) Skyrim to naturally lead the player to Anvil.

Spending 30 minutes clearing all of the content in Seyda Neen and then hotfooting it to Balmora to sell the skooma, moon sugar and drop the package off to Caius is how all of my playthroughs start. Then I get a Silt Strider or Guild Guide to whichever city lets me start off with the faction/s I plan on joining. Starting Cyrodiil, TR or SHOTN content is really no different, you just need to pay a bit more money for the boat trip.

Typically, I do the Seyda Neen stuff to get myself some basic equipment, then run to Caius Cosades so that that shitty package no longer takes up room in my inventory, and then run straight to Ebonheart where there's a ferry you can pay to take you to Old Ebonheart. And then it's up to you. Do OE content meant for low levels, or take the boat somewhere else (andothren, Cyrodiil, etc.) since it's a major transport hub.

I traveled across Vvardenfell a bit and got myself the clothes I want from clothing store mods, and a bunch of essential spells like water breathing, mark and recall, intervention, levitate. Could afford them after a little bit of stealing and pearl diving in known locations.

Then I took the boat to Anvil (also took some stealing and pawning off gems to afford it because the fare costs about 300 bucks), then to Charach on the westernmost Isle of Stirk, and now I'm playing there from level 1 onward.

There's enough simple quests there to make some early money and the dungeons there are challenging but doable at level 1. No need to pre-level on Vvardenfell, beyond maybe stocking up on essential spells if you play a mage.

Did anyone find a Khajiit trader yet, I need to sell moon sugar I found in the sewers

Also that castle for the Kingdom of Anvil faction quests is so far away, I think I can't escape learning Mark and Recall, or I'll just cheat :negative:

Check the bazaar, it's a building in the garden quarter. Otherwise there's bound to be someone in that disgusting ghetto they call Little Arnesia or whatever it is named.

I found one in the Mages Guild in Anvil! She doesn't have much money (500 seller's gold only) but there's now a skooma/moon sugar dumping place

Started on the island of Stirk after getting all the essentials on Vvardenfell, and been playing there all day. Played through the old Stirk release before, it's mostly still the same but with some new and improved stuff. The new enemies in the Ayleid ruins are cool and do a great job giving those ruins their own personality that sets them apart from Oblivion, despite looking similar.

All the little islands around Stirk are fun to explore, and pretty dangerous at low level. Really have to abuse the enemy AI and savescumming to get through a lot of places there. Now I found a submerged Ayleid ruin, gonna be fun to explore that one - luckily I have a water breathing spell.

This is GOTY 2024.
And since it's pretty much confirmed the next Morrowind mainland release will come in 2025, we already know what next year's GOTY will be...
