Yeah I find it pretty funny that people think this stuff is completely real-time. This is all pre-rendered. There is no way you are going to get graphics of those sort on the hardware in the PS3 at HD resolutions. All I see here is fucking movies and tech demos. Great that Sony hasn't changed.
Also is it true they will stream PS1/2/3 games via Gaika in PC too?
and we all know what they did with Killzone 2 last gen...
We've already had this discussion before, the Luminous Engine footage was Real-Time on PC hardware: http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/inde...uminous-studio-tech-demos.73082/#post-2134928Yeah I find it pretty funny that people think this stuff is completely real-time. Square Enix guy just specifically said they are "targeting" that level of quality, and nobody yet has said they have shown real gameplay footage. The closest thing was the Killzone stuff, and we all know what they did with Killzone 2 last gen...
Oh wait, scratch that. The racing game they showed earlier I could buy being real-time, but it didn't even look significantly better than current-gen racing games.
I bet part of it will be used on the OS.this is a mid range pc, except it's a midrange pc with 8gigs of GDDR 5, which is in orders of magnitude faster than the shitty ddr 3 we have in our rigs.
The first Killzone 2 trailer was entirely pre-rendered and they specifically avoided answering whether it was real-time or not. They ended up re-creating it in the engine and it looked substantially worse.and we all know what they did with Killzone 2 last gen...
make the best looking console shooter? the games sucked, but they were lookers.
