I have no idea. I assume they are tied up with some kind of exclusivity arrangement with one of the consoles, or maybe they are just incompetent and unwilling to try anything new. It's hard to say with Japanese companies.

What's fun is when they announce things as coming out for steam like that kunio kun collection then never actually put it on steam and just sell it through places like dmm. Then translate it to english but only on the switch and some other consoles. Already gone through all the effort to port it to pc and translate it but just throwing away money like that?

DMM is big in Nippon, this is probably some exec making last-minute deal to get fat cash. Probably think that even on Steam the money they will get is lower that whatever DMM is offering.

What's DMM?
I guess this maybe?
https://japancodesupply.com/pages/how-to-create-a-japanese-dmm-com-account

DMM is a hugely popular site in Japan where you can purchase just about anything! From manga, to other popular goods that we all know and love, you'll be hooked with just one peek at their site. Usually, this website is difficult to shop in, if you are not a Japanese resident, but now we want to help you get access to this amazing shopping hub!

But who knows?

I don't know why the fuck are they not doing sensical regional pricing anymore. Like since 2020 they are putting retarded price now that it must hurt sales
I think they are still stuck in the PS1/PS2 era mentality when JRPGs were genuinely at the top of the chart and in general were kind of premium products, plus they were basically unheard of on PC. I do not think there is a single western game from that era that can really measure up to Shadow Hearts or the Xenosaga trilogy. So it kind of made sense back in the day.

Only problem is that was almost 20 years ago and they are no longer premium nor rare but are still treated that way.

They had sensical pricing when they went to Steam early on when they accept that putting shit on Steam sells. Except KOEI Tecmo. After around 2020 everybody basically just follow KOEI Tecmo retarded pricing.

I helped put crap in Monomyth
DMM blocked my credit card for being gaijin. Use dlsite instead.
also old workaround where you purchase dmm points with credit card paypal whatever and then use points to buy whatever on dmm
After DMM decided to block non-JP cards, I tried buying it over in Amazon.jp
So far works every time with my non-JP credit card.
Only bad thing is getting credits using DMM Point card doesn't give bonus.

NG+ in first game is great. It's full of bullshit misables of the worst kind. NG- might be cool and might be useless. Second already had a limited NG+ (mostly just information on what you already collected). Wonder if they adjusted the requirements for Perfect Hair/100% completion. If not, the speed options mean it should take "only" 100 something hours instead of over 300.

At the very least they're all white women, oddly enough. I suppose the devs realized how quickly Forspoken failed.
Also, games starred by elderly people (and works in general TBF*) are rare.

*There's for example one French comic called Old Geezers IIRC that is quite good.
