Timed Epic Exclusive. Shit better be 50% off when it gets to Steam.
Nah they will sell it at full price on steam a year later because they know a rush of tards will hoover it up. I fully expect to have to wait 2 years at least to get these exclusives at decent prices.

Who cares about exclusivity? they took everything great about the first one and ignored it. It's a super generic space ship fps.

I also enjoyed the Big ship combat from original game. At least they kept the awesome music :D

So there's no capital ship combat at all? It's just you in your fighter for the whole game? I was kind of hoping that fighters would play a bigger role, but not replace the big ships entirely.

The original soundtrack was great. Could have used some Soundgarden in my opinion, but I'd guess they're pretty hard to license for a relatively small game.

First impression of this game is that its just like Privateer. Nothing really remarkable. Its just Privateer.
I think X4 was more ambitious even if RGO is more polished. This game could be described as safe as it doesn't really do anything outside of the tried and true formula that Chris Roberts with Origin and Frontier pioneered back in the 1990s.
Its lacking an identity. Its passable but I wouldn't rush out and buy it, there's not a lot to get excited about here that I've seen so far.

I guess if you really badly want an updated Privateer this is alright but Star Citizen should tell you that the market expects a hell of a lot more from these types of games.

Edit: you know what I really fucking hate the combat. Its so floaty and doesn't feel right. The story is also a bit trash I feel like I'm jumping into a very railroady experience whereas privateer was the total polar opposite of that. This copies a bit too much from Freelancer in that regard. I'm also not a fan of the protagonist, she comes off as a whiny bitch.

I don't think Star Citizen got away with its bullshit either. Neither did Elite Dangerous, No Mans Sky or even X4 Foundations.
But anyways my first impressions of most of these games are usually bad anyway. If someone can prove to me that it doesn't always stay garbage like this I might be inclined to care about the game.
But I'm relatively not that impressed with it to be honest. As I've said I'd give it an Ok.. a Passable. But theres aspects I don't like.
I think maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm playing mouse driven, the game feels like it should be played with a joypad or joystick tbh.

I think they patched in some mouse changes lately. Have you tried this?

wait a minute.
so they ditched everything which made their previous game peculiar ("2d", firing arcs, thought out approach to the battles...) just to have "yet another space game"?
they deserve the epic store.

There's no DRM. EGS is only needed to download (and update) the game, it can be uninstalled afterwards if you wish:

Playing the game WITHOUT Epic Games Store installed
The game thankfully comes without any form of DRM. The EGS is only required to install the game. After that, you can uninstall the EGS if you want.

You need to make manual shortcuts to either the launcher or the game directly, with the -EpicPortal parameter. See the hints above. Otherwise the game will not launch when EGS is missing.

If you want to have automatic updates for the game and cloud saves, you obviously need to keep using EGS.

Lol doesn't even need a crack.

Played it for a bit on the hardest "Old School". Had to do quite a few merchants runs initially to get something decent, was getting obliterated by anything & everything. Ran like a bitch most of the time. Now my trash heap of a ship is somewhat fine i.e atleast against the basic pirates.

Game has an Awesome fckn soundtrack. Space games travelling is boring as fck, so the music really helps. They got some wicked tracks! The game has a Cowboy Bebop/ Outlaw Star vibe.

The cockpit of my trash heap is shit, covers half the screen. Apparently the later ships have more room to view space.

Luckily the protagonist isn't what I thought she would be i.e Stronk independant female character. Seems like regular pirate/mercenary.

It's a space combat game, if you like space combat games you got to play this. And you can fly up & down. Play the game for the soundtrack.

To use both HOTAS & Keyboard you need unmap the key from the HOTAS.

My biggest problem with the interface is the window that shows target info changes to show random info that I don't fucking need at that moment, like talking heads and shit.

Goddamn.

Game is absolute trash. The option to turn off the annoying button prompts that are on the screen telling you what to do doesn't work and even worse is they fucking beep at you until you do whatever is being prompted at the time. Also, for the most part I hate the soundtrack. It's 95% wanna-be-neo-western normie-rock garbage. Glad I tried it before I buyed it.

I enjoyed it, but there is not enough content, I figured there would be more ships in other systems, but nope, just some variants.
