This looks about as lame as cover shooters get. The game pushes you to play like this because it offers so few options.

The control scheme also seems kind of bad.

Again, Rockstar is wasting two buttons on shoulder swapping. It should be a toggle. Also don't really like that you can only swap while aiming. GTA and RDR never had good melee systems, but here we have two buttons dedicated to melee. I would have replaced one with a dodge/roll. There seems to be no evade of any kind. I really wish you could shoot without holding the left trigger first. Running and gunning is fun. This combat looks so simplistic.

I've now watched the entire game. This game sucked. So much padding with cutscenes, many annoying characters that are nothing more than Escort missions and fetch quests.
Watching it felt more like an Assasins Creed game just with cowboys.

Hope you like building fences because that's endgame (I'm not even kidding). 10/10 riveting gameplay.

It is a toggle, the picture you posted shows shoulder switching as left on D-Pad and show info as right on D-Pad.

  • D-pad left is (mostly) about records. Tapping left on the D-pad pulls up your log — a list of ongoing tasks and challenges. Holding left on the D-pad pulls up Arthur’s journal. While you’re aiming in third-person mode, tapping left will switch shoulders.

I really wish you could shoot without holding the left trigger first.
Come on now, I know you want to continue with your agenda but at least buy the game or watch more of it before typing more shit. I always thought you we're better than this Zeke

  • R2/RT shoots. If you have your gun holstered, tapping R2/RT will draw it, while holding it down will shoot from the hip. If you have your gun drawn, R2/RT will fire it (also from the hip). And when you’re aiming, the right trigger fires (or cocks) the gun.

Same shit I said a few pages ago.

GTA and RDR never had good melee systems, but here we have two buttons dedicated to melee.
R* has had two - three buttons dedicated to melee when actually melee fighting since GTA 4.

Finally found a video that demonstrates what you're talking about.

That's what I wanted to see! He's jogging while shooting. I wonder if the dodge at 42 seconds can be done off cover. Edit: Yeah, he leaves cover before dodging.

If the game is set in 1899, why is the Klan a part of it?
The first Klan was dead and the second one hadn't started yet.

And the first Klan didn't use white hoods, that was uniquely a part of the second Klan.

Trying to figure out how the player dodges.

I wonder if the crouch could be effectively used to quickly duck under fire in combat. I did that a lot in Max Payne 3's multiplayer.

If you can only switch shoulders with D left while aiming, what does D left do when you're not aiming?

I think the only thing that would hinder it is that the gameplay is complex and not approachable for casual gamers who enjoy a more simple, easy or straight forward experience.

Persononally I love the direction Rockstar took for RDR2, I like interesting, complex and immersive gameplay mechanics. Forreal getting 100% doesn't seem to difficult from looking at list, I'm at 31.09%. I will still enjoy the game after completion because I really like this niche historical setting and will keep playing it because gameplay is enjoyable. I have no harsh criticism for RDR2 and couldn't care less positive or negative what media has to say.

when will it be released on computer.
Considering it'll be very difficult to cash in on a "remaster" when both consoles will likely be backwards compatible and every day they're not on PC while Red Dead Online is online is a day they're missing out on shark card money? I'd guesstimate sooner than a lot of people expect.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I'm playing without auto-aim and lock on, and it's pretty hard to survive some encounters, like if you get ambushed in the middle of nowhere without cover. Hitting anything from horseback is almost impossible, so I just use the horse as a ram and then shoot them when they are on the ground :)
