The differences are more than digital vs physical. In fact, that is an (almost) irrelevant distinction from that perspective. The problem is you don't understand what a pdf file is and are looking at the issue from a completely wrong angle (fuck you IDtenT, you ninja!).

Think about what happens when you resize a book, a book in pdf format or the browser window. What distance are you reading your book/pdf/web site from? What size is the page/window/window? How big are the fonts in each case? Are you leaning back in a chair or sitting straight? Now work from that.

Most differences are subtle. It adds up and readers just don't feel as comfortable reading the text. It's not a huge problem, but it is a problem. A problem that is not difficult to address and a problem that the "person partly responsible for the editing" should address (with something other than a couple of retarded posts). Acknowledge the criticism and bring it up with DU. It's cool. No one is expecting you to do anything more.

Eh, I wasn't talking about reading being "comfortable" or not at all - it's pretty obvious that's individual - and I thought you didn't either. I think we're talking past each other.

Srsly, I think we need a gallery of funny/useful images. Not everything can be an emoticon.

I had several seizures reading this article, I suspect it has something to do with it being a little hard on the eyes

I noticed other people have had similar issues, just reporting I also have the issue in case it counts

oh yeah, I also approve of it anyway, in case it counts

I cannot into long sentences, but still, a brilliant article by grotsnik. Petition for his name to be changed to brotsnik.

Also, I suspect the Codex will be blacklisted by Rockstar in a couple of months.

This thread (article + comments) is exactly what drew me to the Codex in the first place. Sharp and insightful analysis, but also a community that (mostly) doesn't take itself too seriously and doesn't have their heads up their arses.

:excellent:

I actually have a CRAPLOAD of art I have saved over the years from the codex. Maybe a Kodex Kustom Kollection of art kind of gallery?

Don't we have a gallery for just that?

(this was stored in "Random noise" but that folder is a mess)

Obviously we need to give grotsnik some made up playjournalist titles like these other websites do so his opinion matters.

It helps that none of them are huge.
trying to display that list here(or anywhere, I think) would be impossible due to the sheer amount of emoticons, and the sheer amount of small stuff probably would make it hard to distinguish which is which

I was trying to get at what they're probably doing : using only :text: :codes: and possibly having only a few of them on the "emoticon menu"(though by now I don't even care about it being big anymore, to be honest), I think there's some guys here who post there(CB, for example) who are probably going to enlighten me about it soon

but fuck it, not even really sure what I'm talking about

also don't really care about the size of emoticons here save for a couple of the bigger ones like that gigantic "NOT SURE IF SERIOUS", I actually initially thought it was some random image instead of an actual emoticon

I thought we agreed you're going to do a retarded rant next? Two sentences aren't going to cut it.

"As comfortable" (as reading a properly formatted text). It is individual, but only up to a point. There are standards. If the room temperature is 30°C, it's too hot. If the poll cue is 0.5 m long, it's too short. Are there exceptions? If you're a naked midget, then yes.

 Thank you Marsal Obvious.
Anytime, Bee! :salute: Unlike the Codex, I am flexible enough to scale my posts down to your level, naked midget. Do you finally understand how retarded your posts have been and why formatting is important?

We should just make him wear a mask and turn him into some kind of game journalism vigilante:

The accumultaed filth of all their "10/10 GOTY" and "gits" will foam up about their waists, and all the gaming journalists and PR people will look up and shout "buy this game", and I'll look down and whisper "no".

You're missing the point, Marsal. Again. But you're pretty endearing the way you are.

Well thanks to John Hynd's coworker David Hynd (brother?), who retweeted John's opinion of this piece, I've found this: https://twitter.com/JournoShits

It seems everyone else is just behind the curve on this one. I especially liked "Take a minute to spare a thought for @atheistium who won't be able to play her free video game as she'll be on a free trip #pray4lauren" from May 11th.
