Voting for "Impregnation of the Elves" and "Super Lesbian Animal RPG" is the equivalent of voting for "RPG McRPGface".

Yeah, it's funny, haha. A shit game in the Top 5.

To be fair, there was this that got me slightly curious about Elden Ring.

But even that doesn't make it much more than souls game #218621, which is the impression I got from all the gameplay I saw.

If all the top games are gonna be shit, we might as well make the whole list a farce.

If this was 2018, I'd never do that.

Note-taking is not necessary. He's just saying that to show how special he is on twitter.

...yeah, that sounds like something Jay would do. Great artist, but by God, does he have a stick up his ass.

Those two games are a case where I would actually welcome heavy-handed editorial censorship, as in: removing them from the list altogether.

They were put in as a joke. They wouldn't be put in as a joke if the real selection was worth taking seriously.

Again, recall 2018.

This year's list sends the message of "RPG devs should look up to Elden Ring as an example". That's a message so dumb, it deserves to be defaced with furry porn.

Black Geyser at #127? Something is not right with this system when literal shovelware is ranked higher than a pretty decent and popular RPG.

The biggest news of this thread though is that Maxie is back.
Nope its fine, many played it but its meh.. The chart shows exactly that.

I thought it might be good idea to let the community and developers of the game know about their success.

oh yeah one thing i forgot about

This year we went back to a Codex-only vote. Also to a 1-5 scale, because I forgot to ask to change it to 1-4 lol.

and good riddance to that because your dumb scoring methods are always dumb

it's very good that he shakes up the formula every year so as to avoid the codex getting complacent and actually receiving apt results

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I'd like to see the correlation between users' ratings for Elden Ring and whether they played KOTC2.

Is the kind of person who plays KOTC2 more stingy with his ratings (for Elden Ring and also in general)?

What? How does that even suppose to work?
Calculate the scores for all the games based only on votes from users who voted for KOTC2. Are they lower than the general population's scores, and if so by how much?

Also interesting that you are not interested in the reverse.

Sure, you could also do the reverse. But much more people played Elden Ring than KOTC2.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (136th place) not as high as I've expected.
I would have expected it to be lower. A good number of people here loathe it either because they always hated FF7 or they're superfans who seethe over changes to the story/combat system.

Props to Meb and Nelka and others for voting along with me more or less. :M

My goodness, I didn't even recognize 98% of those game (so didn't vote). Never heard of them. I am now solidly in "Cranky Old Man, Get off My Lawn" territory as I have zero interest in almost all of these so called cRPGs. Too many classics from the good-ole-days still to discover and play.

I haven't followed new game releases for years for that exact reason. I never realized old people felt that way too.

You don't need to take notes in Elden Ring. You needed to do it in previous FROM games, but this time the characters leave messages with the steps you should follow, and they literally tell you where they'll go and what they'll do.

Not even Final Fantasy fans liked the remake. We got Italian Tifa out of it at least.

Wow, I'm surprised Bloody Spell and ELEX 2 got such low scores. I enjoyed them a lot. But apparently to 'dex consensus they are vastly inferior to The Impregnation of the Elves and Super Lesbian Animal RPG.
I enjoyed them somewhat, sure. Fun games. (now that I think of it... did I vote for Bloody Spell? huh...)

But they aren't great. Their rank isn't the problem I'd say.
