At first I thought it'd affect "recovery", then I realized it didn't

I'd love to know how you realized that, because it's wrong. Dex makes everything faster except for movement. Give yourself 1000 dex through cheats, and cast, attack, recovery, and reload times will all shrink to nothing. That's what "action speed" would imply to me, and that's what actually happens in game as well.

I'd rather watch a video from the final game. Also, I think Sensuki said that characteres were overleveled in the beta.

I believe content in the beta area is targeted roughly for level 6. In the beta you started out at level 4, gained a level almost immediately, and finished at 8 if you did all of it. XP was massively inflated so we'd get to play with the level-ups. I.e. you went from underleveled to overleveled. The syllable-soup dungeon in the map to the west was pretty damn hard if you did it first thing, and pretty easy if you did it last thing. Difficulty also varied a lot from build to build.

Oh boy...this is a real massacre. Is it really the worst of the Kickstarters? It certainly seems that way to half the population here. Surely it cannot be that bad...I cannot remember reading such a review about a game (and accompanying commentary), even here, before. Oblivion had a better reception than this! Something seems...off.

I'll just leave this here...

It is not, what you see now are just reactions of two sides arguing, so thats why stronger language is used.

The review is not that negative at all, it merely says how things are, especially on mechanical design and quest design side. but to some thats "too negatively expressed" because its hurting their butts... so... the confrontation grows in rhetoric.

I red the review, I agree with it.
Also the review should have touched the part where unique items are lackluster and always have combination of standardized bonuses. Also boring as fuck.

Allthough I will not go as far as calling it a husk, I had the same feeling while playing it and thinking, "Maybe I should replay Baldur's Gate 2. That game was nice!"

WL2 was much worse.

See, you say this, but when I go back and read the Codex review, and see the commentary on that game, Wasteland 2 is portrayed as being a much better experience. Magnitudes better actually.

Believe me, since I have been looking hard at all the info I can about Divinity, WL2 and PoE just lately, that is the consensus I have seen. Divinity seems to be on top, with Wasteland trailing behind and PoE following up the rear in a cloud of flames.

Obsidian has industry veterans and the benefits of a well-established game style, but [...] no comparable publisher/sister-dev support (though having inXile around certainly helps!)

And so the shilling begins :decline:

I seriously don't understand why the powerful unique items cannot "cheat" the system and be enchanted say... 15/12, or have some unique mods. The itemization made me wish to be able to skip the dungeons because there is no incentive to explore them. The only thing you get from looking around the dungeons is trash mob fights (no xp, some gold but I already swim in it), some random useless loot like "Fine Dagger", and pointless flavour text scribbled on the walls like "Gaius Valerius Venustus, soldier of the 1st praetorian cohort, in the century of Rufus, screwer of women" Oh, and wasted time and broken dreams.

Actually in the full game you end up a higher level when you get to the Dyrford than you start at in the beta. I think I was level 6 or 7 when I got there.

That's because Blaine wasn't allowed to tear Wasteland 2 a new asshole, because of...reasons. So we had to do with VD's apologetic review instead.

Is it really the worst of the Kickstarters?

It's the best and it's not even close. D:OS is the only real attempt-contender.
D:OS was utter trash, lmao.

gimmicky combat, gimmicky schizophrenic PC dialogues and terrible writing

Is there seriously nothing good that came from the kickstarters?
Is the new torment the last hope?

One of my favourite games of all time FTL came through kickstarter. Wasn't really an RPG though.

Edit: Fuck off Bubbles. TBS was a popamol crap. Zero C&C coupled with combat you couldn't lose.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In I helped put crap in Monomyth
If Dungeons of Aledorn really gets released and becomes better (or at least as decent a game as) than PoE I'll LOL like hell.
Specially considering that the game struggled to get funded and was almost snubbed/ignored by the gaming press in general.

I haven't played PoE, but there's one thing I'd like to ask to those who did:

Is it better than DA:I ?

:troll:

FTL was kinda nice, but yeah I meant like the big cRPG stuff.
I'm well dubious about any 'big' kickstarters now. They are all meh at best imo. I think it's the small ones inside of which all hope for the future of goodness relies upon now.
Edit:failure to punctuate.

Project: Eternity Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
. I was level 10 when I hit dyrford village.
.
Oh come on, you can't measure the difficulty of your playthrough with others if you have a progression curve like that. I assume you did Defiance Bay and maybe even the full Od Nua before going to Dyrford if you were at level 10. It's obvious that Dyrford is piss easy if you go there with a level 10 party.

I for example went to Dyrford before Defiance bay and Od Nua, around 4-5 level, and it was just the right challange for me.

Careful son you'll cut something with that edge.
It relied too much on the elemental interaction to keep it interesting and engaging
Is that a problem if it's interesting and engaging? Even if it's not particularly challenging it gives you something to toy with. Which is better than bsb.
