Lilura is like Edith Pritchet in Philip K. Dick's novel Eye in the Sky, which I'm currently reading. She has the power to abolish anything in the universe, and abolishing things she didn't like, like some power mad blogger, there was nothing left in the end, as she even abolished the individual elements.

You're such an idiot sometimes, Octavius. Think I'll ever ignore the likes of Grimwulf or Rogueknight? See, they actually don't shitpost, and never give me shit. Also, I barely approve any comments on my blog but then I still get viewership comparable to those that approve tons of comments, so who cares; it's all about the views.

Can someone answer my question? I do think NS is a masterpiece, but there are far more wiser people on these formus than me. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but when reading that part of the book, I couldn't help making the comparison, what with your current iggy binge.
But don't worry, you're still one of my favourite girls on the Codex.

This post caused me to create this topic. In that topic, people were saying that third-rate RPGs were "perfect", which is ridiculous. I don't even think Jagged Alliance 2 is perfect.

Masterpiece: A work of outstanding skill, mastery or workmanship.

Note how it says "a work". In other words, it isn't enough for an RPG to have great this or great that, but fail elsewhere. When taken as a whole, the RPG must equate to a masterpiece. Thus, Troika games are out despite my undying love for them.

There are not many masterpieces. Off-hand, and in no particular order:

- Fallout (PC)
- Deus Ex (PC)
- Jagged Alliance 2 (PC)
- Warband (PC)
- Diablo (PC)
- Darklands (PC)
- Wasteland (C=64)
- Captive (Amiga)
- Hired Guns (Amiga)
- Dungeon Master (Atari ST)

I can call any of these masterpieces with a straight face. There are others, of course, but that's what I can think of, off-hand.

So what, to your mind, are examples of genre masterpieces?

Except that the real Lilura has no actual power, more like an angsty teen thinking the worst punishment is her "iggy bin".

I messed around with some Darklands today 'cuz of this thread. Early on I dismissed my companion named Gunther in a tavern.

Ten minutes later I was in another far-away town/city (Gunther long forgotten and abandoned - good riddance) and found myself trying to get out of the sewers when the game told me that Gunther had opened the sewer grate for me.
