"I simply didn't clock it" means "I simply didn't play any of the original games, and I have zero interest in the game's established world." He is just above it, because he's woke. This is extremely typical of faggot hack writing in academia and elsewhere, where midwits distinguish themselves not by actual thought and analysis, and
certainly not by creativity, but rather by this kind of empty roleplaying as being smart.
They bleed into one another, literally and figuratively. How is that a meaningful comparison? What does it even mean? It means absolutely nothing. This kind of empty virtue-signaling through meaningless smart-sounding phrases is what most blogging consists of also. Did they really need
five women to help them make this game? And one of them a brown woman? How many brown women are there in the Ukraine? There's an easter egg picture of the Shadow of Chernobyl dev team in Lab X-18, and they're a group of regular-looking Ukrainian guys. Smart-looking Ukrainian guys, actually. They're mostly tall, and none of them are fat. They're actual nerds who made what they did probably primarily out of love of what they were doing, rather than for love of fame and money. That's why SHoC was such an envelope-pushing, interesting, intelligent game, and why Stalker 2 is console slop. This group of women and fruity-looking men aren't developers in the vein of oldschool GSC or Half-Life Valve or Id Software. They are a DEI-curated 21st century collection of people working for a corporation with the intent of producing a product that will make a lot of money. Maybe some of the people in that picture are really intelligent and creative and cool, but
most of them? I doubt it. In 2007 GSC it was probably almost all of them.
