Oh, which item? Give me a spoiler. I'm still not sure if I want to do the TotL areas, IIRC it was rather annoying.
A helmet :
Chautog's Thinker (+1 AC, +2 INT, -2 CHA, 17 STR required)

Yes the TotL areas can be very annoying. I like the castle and courtyard well enough, but the underground parts are really boring. Well, at least some fights are pretty difficult.

Yeah, that dungeon wasn't what most people wanted when they complained the expansion was too short.

This thread makes me miss TheVeryBigSlayer :(

Briefly tried out two very curious games: Arvoch Alliance and Salvation Prophecy

Well I only played one mission but I guess it's kind of like Precursors, although it doesn't look as good. Apparently there are also space battles and an overall strategic element to it, but I haven't gotten there yet.

The cockpit in Arvoch alliance looks so sexy. In all its cluttered, ugly, functional glory.

My iZ3D monitor finally died. I jumed out of some cash and bough that neat 27'' 3D screen from Asus (http://hothardware.com/Reviews/NVIDIA-3D-Vision-2-and-The-Asus-VG278-LCD/?page=3) and in comparison to iZ3D it's pretty fucking amazing. Almost no ghosting (in most cases it's completely unnoticable) and game compatibility is much better, as it uses NVidia drivers, while iZ3D hasn't been updated since 2010.

Anyway I got me playing some Metro 2033. While the game is so-so, (great atmosphere, rather challenging, and not bad stealth, but very linear) it looks awesome in 3D. So here are some screenies.
First the side-by-side JPS, if you have the hardware to watch them in proper stereo:

And a a few crappy anaglyph shots (for the oldschool red-cyan glasses), just to get the idea, but these can't compare to the real thing.

Definitely not enough. And 3D porn looks better than ever, with tits bouncing out of the screen.

Spec Ops: Apocalypse Now The Line.

It's surprisingly good. It's a typical cover shooter, when it comes to game mechanics. But the story is great. So far i'm in chapter six (out of something around 14 total), and i have no idea what the fuck is going on. I'm not really sure if i'm killing the good or the bad guys. It draws from Apocalypse Now heavily, so the atmosphere is really raw and gritty. And as you can see, it's also pretty gory. IMO it's worth a playthrough, because i can't think of another game that makes me feel so uneasy about killing people and generally experiencing war. Seriously. There are also some tough moral choices to make. Will you save a guy who risked his life to help you earlier, or will you save a group of innocent civs who are being indiscriminately slaughtered instead? You can't make a safe choice, and in the end, you won't be a hero. This game is really messed up.

BTW the demo sucks. This game is really all about experiencing the story and watching how the characters gradually change from typical 'Kwan "hardened killing machines" to traumatised, shellshocked wrecks. It's done well, but you can't show that in those 2 short levels they included in the demo.
