Elden Ring
How are you liking it?

Like I said in the official disc thread, it's the world's tastiest cake, but your dog took a bit of a piss on it, and you're still eating it, because well, it's the world's tastiest cake. The dog's piss is a clever metaphor for the performance issues.

Outside of the perf problems, the game is absolutely amazing.

Decent game, I'm enjoying it, but it's far from amazing IMO. And I'm not talking about performance issues (of which I've had very few).

It really is just Dark Souls, with open world and more popamole traits. I'm fine with that, not complaining. But yeah, not amazing.

I won't lie, I'm sympathetic to people playing offline bc of these. The messages were fun gimmick in Demon's Souls and DS1 and were kinda useful before you are acclimated to those games, ie warning about dangerous enemy, trap, ambush and so on, and even them sometimes being misused to get you killed fitted the games. But already by the time DS1 was on PC they were mainly a medium for dank memes... And their entertainment value expired really, really fast...

Had to consult a walkthrough a few times for some of the absolutely unfair puzzles.
What's the program you used to make the map?

Trizbort

A little bit rough around the edges, but I found a way to make it work for me. I've also customised the default theme a bit.
Really? That's unfortunate, since I already am using it and was trying to find something else. I found that if I'm on the bigger side of game worlds it started slowing down. Thanks anyway.

Interesting, I've done a little test: I've copy-pasted the whole map six times in a row, and things are still snappy at 60-80% zoom level and above (that's what I use almost always). There is a slowdon below 50%, and at around 10% it's quite slow to pan the map around (around 5 fps). So maybe just never zoom out more than 60-80%? I don't see much benefit in doing so anyway as I can't read any labels below 50%.

EDIT: I'm using 1920x1080 res. Maybe if you're using 4k that makes a difference too, as this is a .NET app that uses standard Windows GDI drawing (which has *some* HW acceleration, but not much).

Yeah I found them annoying and fucking lame. I went offline due to them.

Wow, looks so much better and more atmospheric than the over-the-top infrared-photography style of Elden Ring one post below!

Is that the original game, no texture updates or anything? It looks great, has so much character!
