Continuing where I left off with episode 3, maps 21-23 are, thankfully, a bit on the easy side. NERF was also a good warm-up, because now UV feels like slow motion. But the effect wears off quickly.
Map 24 is one of those big maps I was afraid of. But ... it turns out, it's not so bad? All those big arena setpieces are manageable. It's the small skirmishes, before you even get to the meat of the map, that have given me so much trouble. I must have died at least 10 times in the beginning area. But once I made it past, I beat the map.
I'm using the secret invuln for this part.
The AV disco should be a formality. But I slipped, got hit by 3 AVs at once, and almost died 30 minutes into the map.
The crusher fight at the end sends 1160 enemies into the arena. Its bark is worse than its bite. Bring a few extra cells for the BFG, and this is the easiest part of the map. No reason to die here, except nerves.
This also marks the beginning of the "green hell" maps.
Map 25 is one of my favorites, but this part is annoying. Each Baron blocks an AV teleporter. So ideally, you'd want to deal with each of them one by one, if it weren't for the Cyberdemon.

The best part.
Maps 26 and 27 are a bit easier again. The calm before the storm.
Cramped spaces with Hell Knights.
Me and my best buddy, the Spiderdemon.
Cool.
Only 3 maps left. But I remember those are all long and grindy. I need to be in the right mood to even make an attempt, and I doubt I will finish them this year.
