First time entering the city I murdered a lone woman to make a bed for myself. Later found out that I've locked myself out of a quest because her uncle is angry over it. This sequel is a bit well-thought-out, even if he didn't actually see me murder her.

There are free beds at the inn in the city.

Also I'm pretty sure you can sleep in any bed without ramifications, no need to go killing.
Yeah in Gothic you don't go running around murdering people at random as that has serious consequences as it would in real life.

yeah looks like "Thorben" was *quite* disapproving of his wife's murderer

As he should be; I'm surprised he did not attack our "hero" outright.

I could do that in Gothic 1 :(
Gothic 1 is set in a prison...
yeah, and Gothic Guy is a felon
But he's not a murderer. Probably he just stole a loaf of bread, or offended some nobleman, or banged their wife or something. Most likely it was in some high-ranking guy's interest to keep enough people in the Colony for ore mining, so probably they just kept sending strong able males there for every petty crime. Just how the British nobility exploited the convicts in Australia for free labor — most people who ended up here were petty criminals, not full blown psychos.

G-Police (1997) on PS1

Excellent production values with nice 3D visuals and a constant flow of FMVs and voiced dialogues. If you like old games for their austere presentation, G-Police isn't it.

The missions alternate between babystting suicidal units, following scripted events under a tight schedule, and more barebone, but infinitely more enjoyable, turkey shoots in target-rich scenarios much like old school Ace Combat.

The PS1 aiming could use some finetuning, I suppose it's much easier on PC with mouse aiming. Speaking of which, after that I'll probably move on to the sequel Weapons of Justice which never got a PC version, hence why I went with DuckStation for both.
