Bro you have no idea how disappointing it was to find cool-looking screenshots in the mid-00s, looking up the game, and finding out it's a fucking MMO.

Had so many occasions of that in my teens, it's incredible. "Wow this looks amazing I wanna play it!" - MMO with subscription fee back during days when I didn't have any way of even paying it, and even if I did I hate the concept of subscriptions.

Today, most of these cool-looking games are lost. Some still work on fan-emulated servers but the population is almost dead, and these kinds of games don't really work in single player.

Worst genre ever. So many cool concepts wasted on a genre with a limited lifespan by design.

Yeah that stuff still happens, I'll see some cool looking environment/city in a screenshot and then look up the game to find it's another Battle Royale/DayZ/Freemium shooter.

BROs, completed main campaign of Resident Evil 5 Gold (PC) a.k.a. Chris & Sheva on Rails.

Pros:
- Popamole console shooter done almost right,
- Graphics still look great after all these years,
- Plenty of modes, bonuses, skimpy outfits and EXTREME action scenes,

Cons:
- Fucking QTEs: segments with them totally break the pace, are frustrating and game would be much better without them; WTF is wrong with devs who use(d) this shit???
- Vanilla FOV is horrible (RE4 disease strikes again),
- Ally AI can be fucking irritating (shooting at the boss when he shoudn't be shot at, etc),
- Story is offensively dumb. Compared to this (and later games), RE1-3 is like a 198x top-tier HQ action movie's scenario.
- Slight incline after the total decline of RE4, but also introduced its own decline (shoota!), which led to RE6 and death of the "main" series. Revival / proper application of the shooter formula to the RE format came with the underrated RE: Revelations subseries.

It is a decent cooperative game. Especially due to the fact that you can kill your mate by messing up your own quick time events. That adds some hilarity to them when you play it in local couch coop.

To be fair, that's screen from combat while during exploration most of that overlay isn't shown.

Had a damn good time with the last part of the trilogy. Its basically a action movie where you get to play the shoot-out's. Its extremely linear and has way to many cutscenes and intermissions, but the action is damn good. The animations, the damage model and particularly the hit feedback are some of the best out there.

:hmmm:
Anniversary Edition - more acts (thanks to DLCs) and bosses to unlock higher difficulties, trying to somehow mix deffensive and offensive masteries to compete in late game. Which is not that easy feat when drops are bad. Enemies are absurdly fast it's almost impossible to step back while attacking them.
Graphic have issues - not that great AA and rare graphical artifacts they never fixed since AE release, and never experienced them in original, retail release.
