You can safely skip straight into the third game if i am being honest, this one is inferior to it in almost every single way. The final level was especially good at showcasing just how annoying it is to control you character at high speeds.
You can play the same levels in Spark 3 anyway.
The boss music is hype as fuck.
Just like my animes.
Now for something a bit simillar. Rollin' Rascal - Demo
Somewhere between 8 and 9, i think? I liked it but i don't consider myself a platformer connoisseur.
In comparison i would give 10 to Spark 3 and 6-7 to Spark 2.
I tried a bunch of demos from steam next. Nuke them all.
A thematic sequel to a very old DOS strategy called Z as i understand it. I kinda like the style but the gameplay is a bit simplistic.
The game kept freezing on the third mission unfortunately.
9-Bit Armies: A Bit Too Far
Plays like a C&C somewhat. I didn't like it. Can't quite put my finger on what my issue with it exactly.
The Touhou Empires on the other hand.
It's like Age of Empires games but tohou. This one i actually enjoyed quite a bit.
My only experience with tohou comes from hentai doujinsi, some amazing music tracks and occasional memes. I have no actual idea who Reimu and Marisa are personality wise but in this game they're an absolute pair of murderhobos. Wishlisted.
The next game is a Monomyth. There is a big thread on codex about this one.
On paper it should be the game made for me. RPG that is mostly focused on dungeon crawling, secret searching and stuff.
I didn't enjoy my time with it however. I dislike the save sytem with a passion and i am not fond of the skill system.
Especially if it's a skill system where you need to spend your points immediately before you can even understand on practice how the skills and attributes work. Unsurprisingly i quickly realised that i spread my points wrong.
Game overall looks quite pretty but i enjoyed Sorceress a lot more.
And finally at last, DICEOMANCER. Another one of those deckbuilding roguelikes, this one is made by a chinese developer so translation is a bit wonky.
Looks artistic AF and i like that gimmick with you having an ability to manipulate every number you see on screen. Call me a graphic whore but i wishlisted it just for having a cute artstyle alone.
Killing the very evil Google server guards without any mercy
It's old, but I think the art style is striking. It's just gritty and inventive enough for me to really enjoy the visuals.
It's a pretty fun game, but it's rather simple. You shoot, use some time shenanigans force, and then shoot some more. The story is typical sci-fi slock, but that's okay. I'm here to shoot and maim. However, it has two major problems. The goons take forever to kill, which makes the outdoor fight a real slog to get through, even with time manipulation. Everyone is far away and will constantly throw lead-down range at you, and you die pretty quickly. Having to magdump each guy over these distances is really damn painful. The other problem is that the game drops ambushes on your head constantly, with 5-10 dudes just popping up behind something ready to kill you. It gets old quickly, especially when you have to face enemies with jetpacks or shotguns. Other than that, pretty fun.
Tried HL2 couple days ago, gave up after ~1,5 hrs due to total boredom / shitty gameplay. And I remember thinking this game was "fine for what it was" back in the day when I played it (to completion). So I though "maybe I'm too old for shooters"?
I also took another Quake mod for a little spin by the way. Heard Ninja Destroyer and others were saying good things about Peril.
The very first level is ridiculous in terms of size. I am pretty sure that at least half of the places i visited here were not even necessary to progress, there is just so much to explore!
Bigger Quake maps can often be quite exhausting to play but this one actually made me crave more instead. It feels like a journey instead of a chore.
It's really junky tho. Every single elevator and flying transport ship i flew likes to deal damage out of nowhere.
Currently encountered a roadblock.
Not sure if i missed something or the mod bugged out.
Edit: Nevermind, this was a breakable part. I was aiming my rocket launcher slighly wrong.
