Is actually funny, he starts doing that but then some guys appear saying he's too important to do that, so a generic instructor replaces him. The Dynasty series likes to make him so "people guy" that is ridiculous...

Anyway, I kind of finished the tutorial, and now I can start taking quests and getting new weapons & armors. Is quite well done the online stuff: get a quest, hop into map alone or with some bros, kill tons of chineses and take some bases. Quests go from "kill 200" to cooler stuff, like finding a roaming general and defeatng him, taking as many bases as possible with a short time limit, etc...

The weapon system is also cool, you got most weapons from Dynasty 5 + XL (incluiding Zuo Ci's OP cards). You start all the battles at "lv 1", and must kill dudes and collect points to improve attack power, musou, defense and combo lenght, or trade them for a quick 2x attack, defense or speed. Your weapon's upgrades and gems allows you to customize wich upgrades are available in battle. Sima Yi's fan at the begginign can only improve musou and give you 2x attack & defense, but I socketed a gem into it that allows me to boost the attack power for the whole battle. Very interesting system, but hard to properly explain.

The leveling system is a rank system, where you start as a recruit and must gain honor & do quests to go up in rank and be able to wield better weapons, get tougher quests and go to faction PvP battles. There's gear too, that you find & craft and gives you passive bonus and look nice. My main complain ATM is how easy everything is...I'm still only facing weak soldiers and no-name generals, most die in a quick combo... wanna get powned by Lu Bu soon! :D

All and all, very good game, especially for free. I'm having more fun with it than I had with that HORRIBLE "conquer china" mode in DW7...

EDIT: Man, this game is GREAT! I'll start a new character with my brother, play some more and post a thread about it on the MMO forum. ;)

Shit I now have installed Caesar 3
After having played Pharaoh and Zeus, I find it impossible to go back to Caesar 3 because of its lack of roadblocks.

Never played Emperor. Does it have any significant improvements over Zeus, or is it just a reskin?

I never played Emperor much, but, if I'm recalling correctly, it pulls back from some of the changes that came with Zeus. The most notable being the return of freeform play/removal of the episodic nature of Zeus missions.

Also, Caesar 3 does have quasi-roadblocks: Gatehouses. I never really found them to be *that* important in Caesar 3, though, as almost all walkers/buildings behave in the same manner. That is to say, you don't need to worry about squeezing every ounce of coverage out of a school in Caesar 3 in the same way that you have to in Pharaoh because they don't consume a trade good in the former. Minor inefficiencies only cost you a few employees (Which you'll likely have a massive excess of in any decent design) instead of hundreds or thousands of Db per year.

Now, if only Caesar 3 didn't have those god damn granaries that have road intersections underneath...

Haven't gaymed for a while, but got stuck replaying Dark Crusade for a week now. I'd play Soulstorm for Dark Eldar and ADEPTA MOTHERFUCKING SORORITAS, but the maps are pretty shit. Please Relic with dicksauce on top, DE AND SOB FOR DOW 3 OR YOU DIE!
