It's alright so far. Combat is super easy (just keep swinging and zombos can't get near you) but it seems too early to judge.

Are weapons breakable? I've gotten them "damaged" so I throw them away in favor of new ones, and I'm always carrying another on the inventory just in case.

Yeah, they break pretty quick once the damaged sign pops up. That said, unless you're early game or one of the much later stages of the survival mode, you shouldn't have any real trouble with finding durable melee weapons - unless you go edged, then tough shit since at least half of the edged weapons in-game have low health.

Since I can't really see any reason to recommend more than 1 run, some quick imo stuff -

shift to the Warehouse asap. located right next to the good shit, is closer to a lot of the story stuff than the starting town and has the most versatile construction spots. It has a fully upgraded machine shop by default so you can repair vehicles from the get-go.

Reflex characters are your friend. Sweep Kick > Finish them /game. Now, you do have to be careful around fatties and ferals, but thats what you carry guns for. Ferals die just as easy as regulars to vehicles, so theres that as well.

Food and meds are abundant. Fuel is 'rare' to find, but has so few uses you can get away with never building a fuel outpost. Save the slots for ammo and construction material - and a few for spots close to your base.

I played some time in Wizardry:ToFL and my only question is - what the hell happen with pants in this world?

Still need to learn how the heck magic work in this game. Some stones, materials, names etc.
After long playing on games with generic magic it's somewhat confuseing and not helpful when you come back and play after some delay.

The Flash happened, obviously. A giant fireball that messed up the order of the world by first consuming pants like there is no tomorrow and placed royal rings in random places.

Basically, magic is learnt and powered up buy combining dropped monster pieces in Vigger's shop (click on the make materials). Drops are somewhat random in their consistency, it took me 2 hours once to get a fairy wing for one of the quests.
That is where the game gets very grindy, if you want to max magic or make it useful for levels 5 to 10 you need to amass a huge amount of materials but fortunately after a certain quest you can buy the materials off an NPC so it won't be that bad (IIRC once you get to the 5th floor) and the game is survivable with little magic up until then if you play your cards right.

What's annoying is that the party member you can recruit start all with rank 1 spells so you have to raise them all over again.

RAGE is pretty much a decline FPS coming from iD. But I had a lot of fun with it nonetheless. And you have to admit it's got the looks.

Fraps is good I guess? Steam can also take screenshots.

At those RAGE screenshots - it does indeed look good, but the contrast is so high I would have difficulties finding actual interactable objects, paths etc.

The problem with rage is that megatexture(s) was(ere) blurred shit when you saw them up close. Far away vistas and landscapes were gorgeous, though, and there's some uniqueness it its visuals.

I like the third mission for now. Walking around with your weapon holstered, listening to some background chatter... Oh, the background chatter has one hell of a writing. Girl bitching how her boyfriend wrecked her apartment because he thought there is a rat, 2 gentlemen discussing the words 'poop', 'rectum' and 'live'. Holy crapooley, if only the game didn't broke and crash during the Rorian cinematic...

I love this game

It was my first playthrough, and I really didn't exactly know what to expect. I remember playing the demo, but that was so long ago. The controls are little clunky (a,z for jump and crouch, arrows to navigate) but with proper mapping it wasn't a problem anymore. The gog version is UK, but the US has an option to change it. There were some topics on gog how to change the versions in-between but after first failed attempt I didn't bother. As for the game, I'm really impressed.

You start in the big mansion where most of the doors are magically closed. You see some notes lying on the furniture and desks, having information from your father... and that's it. The engine (which was used in Normality Inc. AFAIK, I'll need to play it too) gave me Blood vibes. The mansion feels old, desolated, hiding ugly history behind us. The light/darkness contrast works great for setting a proper mood. Combat isn't great, but it works. At the beginning I used only the sword or running. The latter one can be sometimes tricky in more habitated areas, but it's a good tactic to save some bullets and not loose much health. Conserving ammo and health packs is highly recommended. Pistol and shotgun were very standard, but the magic staffs and the dagger, self regenerating were really cool.

And last, but not least - the puzzles. This is like Undying went full monocle and bring to the table many of them. I was really impressed by their numbers and non-repetitiveness. The plot felt to me like Diablo II, soulstones, Belial and more of that themes. The actors were ok, nothing cringeworthy and embarassing. Maybe Adam was too calm in the beginning, with the living dead and ghosts thing . Rebecca was not only sexy, but a good source of helpful hints, so she didn't felt like a dumb waifu. Overall I had a great time with it, I'll keep soundtrack on my playlist for some time.

Replayed VTMB with a Ventrue and the clan quest mod. Surprisingly decent new content.
