Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
The combat part is light (no character customization and easy bosses), the exploration part is pleasant. The game is sympathic, but not challenging.

I like some of the screenshots. Is that a monocled devilfish, or just a stray bubble in the right place?

Also that "re-god-damn-diculous" word is one of the worst atrocities to the English language I've seen in ages. Urgh. Infixes* aren't flexible enough for allow for something like that - not to mention the spelling error.

*Infix, along with prefix and suffix, is the practice of adding to a word to emphasise or clarify its meaning. In the case of infixes it involves the addition being placed in the middle of the word instead at the beginning or the end of it. Infixes are rare and always used with swear words.

You are eagle-eyed, noticing such a detail. It's even chancier than that, since first the bubble is in the right place, but they are always many devilfishes following each other, it is a coincidence that only this one is still alive.

In case you are not aware: That is the portrait bug, where the game assumes you have hex-edited your files. It can be fixed.
Thank you, I found the solution.

Fortunately, I had a super keikaku masterplan go off here. I had to get roughly from the area in the NE corner of the screen all the day down to where I am now, through the door, and into the tellyporta.

Of course, the problem was that there were 5 angry guards in my way, with 2 nasty drones further behind them, and more guards about to get spawned in.

I'd just robbed the corp vault, looting much $$$, and luckily there was a nanofab right outside. Which meant my 2 agents could gear up with 4 weapons. And I also had the foresight earlier to infect the drones with a parasite.

So Banks and Internationale blitz through the first front, downing two guards. The parasite on the big drone kicks just in time to stop it from murdering me. So instead I let it murder a guard standing by the tellyporta :smug:

6ih7bd.jpg

Two turns later, my agents get safely to the exit. Once again the 2nd parasite kicks in just in fucking time to take over the drone that had me on gunpoint during its turn. So instead I have it shoot the camera drone and close the door to block the vision of the 2 guards that had just spawned into the level, which were overlooking the exit.

Huh. I loved the last level, shit was intense. An unkillable monster that stalks you through the dwarven complex while you try to search the place. And I didn't even discover the lava pit where you can drop the monster to get rid of it, so I had to search the whole place with a bloodhound on my ass constantly

I wasn't too enthusiastic about Long Dark at first but it's survival mechanics and meaningful looting with serious consequences for getting overloaded(in my case getting half-frozen to death and then slaughtered by two wolves while being in the middle of nowhere with 30 candybars in my backpack ) made me waste quite some time in it. That said:

It also has some nice views. :)

After that I decided to call it a day and left my current char to warm up with some bear burgers in some nice house with a fireplace somewhere in Coastal Highway. :smug: And recover from 7% condition...

Finished Nosferatu. It's quite short, I put maybe three hours into it. The worst part by far is escorting all the NPCs to safety, they tend to get stuck everywhere or stop for no reason. It can be quite atmospheric at times, mostly due to the music.

Lockpicking puzzle where you have to shape a paper clip to fit the lock, almost an incline but there is a skip button, so no.

Terrible controls for using items or taking/putting them in to inventory, alot of places to get stuck on maps or lose items under/behind other objects, but also interesting puzzles, loots of backtracking through levels and avoiding death encounters.

Blonsky that is one UGLY mother of a game

Anthedon I remember playing a demo of that, it seemed very atmospheric and the timed/open structure seemed interdastin, but the demo just seemed like a tedious shooting gallery against a horde of identical enemies that would kill you instantly if one of them got close. Anyway, did you get it running at 1080p?

I shall poast mah impresshuns in the Resident Evil thread later. Confused? All will be explained.

Again, apologies for the shamefur brurring, it looks ok in-game but you'd need to disable it with CRC hacks for nice screenies.

Is there something wrong with the original version? I remember playing it a couple of years ago and liking visuals very much. I thought they looked as good as the above.
