It's strange - Icewind Dale 2 is like a blur of places that speed past you one after another.

But in Icewind Dale, in each dungeon, you feel like you are going to be there forever. It's a slow game compared to the sequel. You move through each area, each room lightly, slowly, and taking your time.

IWD2 at least starts out slowly. The pace in the starting village is slow, which makes it memorable, but once you've left it and are out and about, everything becomes a blur of either white outdoor locations or dark underground locations.

What is that?!

"The Hobbit", a text adventure for ZX Spectrum and TRS-80. It had a pretty revolutionary parsing system that was less linear than INFOCOM shit. Objects had properties and you could do things permitted within that framework - like, you can make Gandalf carry you around.

Just don't get into a chest, because it will be dark and you can't open things when it's dark.
