Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Giants : Citizen Kabuto

Finally, after so many years I have finished another well known title that looked horrible on my ancient computer and tried it on maximum settings. Interesting combination of genres. We've got action with some base building elements, and racing as well. The levels look really nice, with good color mixture which combined with soundtrack from Jeremy Soule, and a wacky story a perfect mixture when developers were taking the risks and gave something fun to play with. Meccs are regular soldiers working in groups, Delphi is a hot strong independent Reaper taught by a derpy Mr. Miyagi, and last but not least - Kabuto. I've got to say, that kicking enemies and seeing them flying around never gets old along with my little helpers spreading carnage as well.

Sometimes the soundtrack felt almost like lost tracks from Morrowind, which is always a plus in my book. I'll need to play Armed and Dangerous as well since the reviews were also really positive. Thanks Brian Fargo!

HA HA

A&D is unfortunately pretty bad. IIRC the console version is gud but what landed on the PC was completely butchered? I tried it once not too long ago and didn't finish it, in any case.

I played and finished it years ago (pirated PC version, I don't think it was even released here before digital distribution) and thought Armed and Dangerous was ok/average but compared to Giants it's crap, yeah. No jetpack, no racing levels, no bases, only one character to play, mostly muddy brown and snow levels compared to Giants beautiful islands. The only gameplay variation is some sections where you sit in a stationary turret and shoot incoming enemies, it feels like an early 2000s shovelware, and there is A LOT of those, iirc even the last boss is like that. Some of that humor and feeling from Giants is still there, there's some nice guns and gear (shark gun, drill) but the game is a huge decline from Giants in every aspect. Dunno what could make it better on consoles.

To make matters worse, that happened between the map where Gorion gets killed and the one for the east where you meet Elminster.
I'm pretty sure they broke something and it shouldn't have happened there

I'm not sure they did, I think maybe you've just forgotten how poorly designed the majority of encounters are in RPGs of that vintage. The first 10 hours or so of BG1 is riddled with disproportionately hard fights such as that one (eg, outside the Friendly Arms). That same "here's a mass load of bandits" encounter is replayed ad-infinitum in that game (sometimes on travel, sometimes apparently hand placed by developers) long after bandits become one-hit kills with CC spells. Another example is F1, released about a year before BG1, which only too happy to spawn me a deathclaw on my initial journey from Vault 13 to Shady Sands on a recent playthrough.

Are those from the same game? Of Orcs and Men?

Remember the shitty ARPG inXile made:

At least it's somewhat fun. And easy on the eyes.

I don't know what Jeff Vogel did with this start screen.

Slightly older: the cinematic started while I was fighting a goblin, so he's just standing there waiting for the people to stop talking before resuming his attempt at killing me

Deathclaw that early? Must be a pretty low chance, worst I've seen is packs of radscorpions or mantii.

I am quite impressed with how varied the Enclave environments considering the fact that the game is mostly brown and grey.
And you can say a lot of things about fantasy, but the skimpy dressed elves/sorceresses is the thing i will never be tired of. Never.
There's quite a few green areas, especially on the evil campaign. And there's also this:

Also thanks Jack, I'll have to play that game one day.
