I know what you meant but it doesnt matter.
The latter is way worse for the player than the former and it takes a full blown autist to think the ogre is worse because technically the other encounters work as intended.

It matters because the quality of something isn't determined by its difficulty. Do you enjoy sex more, if your partner stabs you in your dick? I mean, according to you, it's probably way better since it's over fast, even though regular fucking "technically" works as intended.

Great fight. I struggled a lot less with him than Owl or the Cleric Beast Fire Manus.

Great game in general. Some of the best bosses ever.

First? I thought people have been doing no-hit runs for days now. Or was it only no-hit bosses?

They did but they were stuck at 1 hit. This seems to be the first no-damage successful.

Based on the first ending achievements:

15% finished DS: PtD (https://steamcommunity.com/stats/211420/achievements/)

18% finished DS:Remastered (https://steamcommunity.com/stats/570940/achievements/)

38% finished DS2 (https://steamcommunity.com/stats/236430/achievements/)

30% finished DS2:SOTFS (https://steamcommunity.com/stats/335300/achievements/)

23% finished DS3 (https://steamcommunity.com/stats/374320/achievements/)

20% finished Sekiro until now (https://steamcommunity.com/stats/814380/achievements/)

If I was a game journalist then I could write some shitty article about this.

DS2 and SOTFS are so good that they’re the ones most people completed.

:martini:

Edit: Haven’t actually played vanilla DS2 but I’ve been curious to play it since I finished SOTFS.

Better compare the late game bosses that tend to be harder than end boss when it comes to the soul main series to have a better idea of how many really completed the game. Works better than adding the % of the two endings since that would include the minority who go NG+ or rerun.
For example on DS1 achievs, 21% killed 4kings, seath and nito. I can't imagine people who got that far being stumped by gwyn, so they are the 21% of the population who completed the game, out of the people who are split between link the fire and dark lord endings.
DS2 only had one ending so we can go by the 38%.
DS3 also has 38% of players who got to oceiros, champ gundyr, and prince lothric. There's even 32% who killed the nameless king. No way those people would be stumped by the soul of cinder. That thing isn't even as dangerous as Oceiros, it just has more HP which makes the fight last longer. I'd go with 38% over your estimation of 23% that is based on a single ending that not everyone would pick. IMHO that's representative of the % of people who completed DS3 and similar to DS2 numbers. DS3 is split between many endings and it's not that difficult to get on track for the obscure ones like the lord of hollow ending even on a blind run.
(by the way, people who selected the link the fire ending are utter faggots)

DS1 had the least amount of completion of the three because let's face it, while its heights were greater than the average of the series, it falls down a cliff post anal londo and becomes a complete CHORE.

It's a bit too soon to pronounce a verdict based on Sekiro achievement stats, and the game complicates this by having end bosses significantly more challenging than previous main story (non optional) bosses. Can't rely on previous encounters to have a better estimation than the one of two potential end bosses which both have their own achievement. So far though, there's 21% who killed Saint Isshin, and 7% old man Isshin, but there's still room for people who haven't killed them yet but may decide to try until they get it.

Vanilla DS2 was a lot more.. peaceful. Skipping straight to the smelter demon without clearing all mobs in Iron Fortress was possible without suffering a prolapsed anus for example.
SOTFS cranked the "stop the player from running through areas" variable 1 level higher over vanilla.

No more Sekiro postings for me.

He skips the tutorial and gets fucked.

"I don't understand how the health works!?" :)

Edit: This is pure gold. He gets kicked to death by the Chained Ogre :)

Nah, probably it's because DS1 became a hit in consoles and came to PC later. I beat it on Xbox, bought it on Steam but never bothered to finish it again, due to the later parts you mentioned. I did finish the remastered version though. So, we can't compare DS1 with the other games that were released on all platforms at once.

Lol, the stats on console are only slightly better.
https://www.trueachievements.com/a154480/defeat-the-four-kings-achievement
24% on xbox 360 killed 4kings.
https://www.trueachievements.com/a184592/the-heir-achievement
48% completed Dark Souls 2's ending.

DS1 fans are always in denial. But also insanely fucking vocal. Over the internet you'd think it's the most beloved game in the world from all the screeching. When the latter half is such a painful chore people just quit over it and not because it's a challenge.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
By the way, this game came out 22nd March and it never stopped being first or second on the Steam bestseller list. For three weeks straight. It only dropped to 2nd when TW3 went on sale, which is p. weird since who the fuck still doesn't own TW3 after 42 different sales every year?

So where the fuck is Activision with their usual "our fastest selling gaem" schtick?

Seven Spears and the Lone Swordsman down. Trying to decide by exploring where to head next.

I think I'm one or two beads from my 3rd necklace.

At the moment its in second place on my top seller list. "Risk of Rain 2" is at no. 1. WTF is that shit, some kind of multiplayer garbage I assume?

Are you checking the global list, not your local? I'm seeing Sekiro 1st, TW3 2nd and Risk of Rain 3rd on the global list.

Well damn, you learn something new every day. Yeah its at no. 1 global. I bet they dont want to advertise it because can you imagine if big publishers had to acknowledge that people like hard games? And then make more of them? Think of the humanity!?
